An old woman was killed by unidentified persons at Chhattarpur village under the Raidih police station, 30 km from the district headquarters, on Wednesday night.
The victim, identified as Mangla Oraon (70), was found dead at the courtyard of her house, police said, adding the incident took place when her family members had gone out to celebrate Karma festival and the woman was alone in her house.
Though villagers are keeping mum, police suspect she was killed by villagers for practising witchcraft.
Victim's son Sukhdeo Oraon, who lodged a complaint in this regard with the Raidih police station, said he reached home on Wednesday night and found his mother dead at the courtyard. He said the assailants attacked her with an axe.
Police have lodged an FIR against unidentified persons. Probe is on, the Raidih police station officer in-charge Digvijay Singh said.
Chris Coons was seen fleeing from the scene.
The article didn't say anything about a violated male dog, so I wonder about this.
