Matt Damon a Yankee swapper?
Boston Herald ^ | 11/1/10 | Gayle Fee & Laura Raposa

Posted on 11/01/2010 6:26:53 AM PDT by raccoonradio

Red Sox diehard Matt Damon promises to wear a Yankees cap (Gasp!) if 200,000 New Yorkers vote with the Working Families Party in tomorrow’s election.

Say it ain’t so, Matty D.!

Taking to YouTube to promote the progressive — some might say Commie — initiative, Damon, who just turned 40, said fans can “really cheer me up” by voting for the WFP.

The Party, he claims, is for cheaper mass transit cards, clean water and more health care reform.

“He says that last one like it’s a thing people would support,” points out Time maggie. “Aw! We’re glad to see even at 40, Matt Damon still hasn’t lost his youthful idealism.”

I’m not familiar with the WFP.

But my intuition says their goal is to transfer OUR tax dollars to THEIR pockets.

These people need to move to other countries. I am so sick and tired of these liberal elites telling everyone else how this country should be governed.

If you love communism so much, go move to Venezuela. I’m sure Hugo would love to put these rich movie stars into their own private villas where they can help take care of the “little people”.

Living wage, universal free healthcare, enforced rent control on all rental units and pretty much every other Communist trope. Yet another reason for me to never watch a Matt Damon movie again (but then again, I can’t remember the last one I watched.)

The good news is that if enough morons listen to Moron Damon, it may split the Dem vote and elect a few more Republicans.

New York’s Working Families Party was first organized in 1998 by a coalition of labor unions, ACORN and other community organizations—wikipedia

one of the comments to Herald article said:
>>Here is a socialist idea comrade Matt. All actors, directors, producers make no more $50,000 a year. All movie ticket sales $1.00 and the poor, homeless, illegal immigrants get in for nothing.

Matt...you're like a busty blond...you think people love you because of your intellect. It's because you're a movie star, dumbass, not your socialist ideals.

I think he missed the class that defines "box office draw"...you know, where your success and ability to get parts depends on how many folks you can lure to the movie house?

Seems that many of his peers aren't getting a lot of parts these days after espousing their liberal ideals...you may be next, mattie-boy....you may be next.

I thought he was great in that first John Grissom movie, but I wouldn't walk across the street to see him up close and in person now. He's a leftie rat, no matter what he does for a living.

The pro-conservative comedy An American Carol (directed by one of the “Airplane!” guys) had a great segment at the start with
lefty film director “Michael Malone” (guess whom it was based on?) going to the socialist workers’ paradise of Cuba to
celebrate their great health care...pretty funny

Don't confuse youthful idealism with empty-headed bubbly progressivism. Damon is an announced Obozo worshipper.

Admit it’s the first time I had heard of the party. Then there’s the International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, I think)—which is true commies. Yeah right.

He should make a real sacrifice and promise share his paycheck equally with those who vote for the WFP.

The "Working Families Party", unsurprisingly, is basically an SEIU subsidiary.

They run candidates and slates in situations where the Democrats are blowing out the GOP so dramatically or the GOP is blowing out the Democrats so dramatically that their votes wouldn't affect the outcome.

In this way they hope to convince victorious Democrats to move further left and to convince losing Democrats to build a coalition with them for the next cycle.

The sad thing is, there is probably at least one voter out there that will be motivated to help "cheer up" this washed-up actor.

First time I heard of this party, too. Damon seems sincere, and that’s supposed to mean he’s a good guy for fronting for yet another quasi-socialist party.

Actors are always trying to use their popularity to push something for “the little people’s” good, but in the end the only good their doing is to their own reputations in the Hollywood community, making themselves seem deeper than ‘just’ someone who, for all his popularity and money, doesn’t create properties like writers do, or get them made like producers or directors. They play act and have glamorous lives and get overpaid, and the guilt they feel for that is what fuels these “good’ works.

Doesn’t make their foolishness any less dangerous to real working families.

Working families party represents sleazy far left progressives. In NY they ran a convicted felon for state assembly who had no idea he was even on the ballot.

Bertha Lewis sits in her ACORN office and introduces the new head of the Amercan Federation of Teachers on behalf of the Working Families Party. Its a regular old trifecta of sewer scum.
