As I understand it, the Mint makes money on these commemorative issues.

But I don’t have a clue how they calculate that.

Should have been a piece of currency with Ronald Reagan.

Probably in 2016. Right now they're scheduled to end with Ford but I'll bet they continue on.

I don't think these are really going to go into wide circulation. Like the two dollar bill or the Eisenhower or Sacajawea Dollars collectors will probably snag most of them right away.

They might as well bring back the $500 and $1000 bills. That’s not all that much money nowadays, but any suggestion of reviving them results in “the only people that would use those bills are drug dealers” excuse, which I think is BS.

The euro and the canada have a 1# coin. no 1# bill.
