You should know very well how wide ranging, and numerous the flaws of Mitt Romney are, we have sure tried to educate you on them.

Right you are, but Chuck is a wascally wabbit who disguised his Romney defense cleverly throughout with a carefully neutral (but see-through) plausible deniability. So much so that FReeper ejonesie22 coined the term for him ... the Swiss Ninja:

Of course, Charlie actually liked that at the time, IIRC?

You definitely know Charlie.

And some things never change.

It certainly is one of the nicer things I’ve been called.

Although I never disquised my Romney defense. I was pretty outspoken whenever I defended any candidate. And when Thompson was gone, I announced that Romney was the candidate I was going to vote for (which ended up not mattering since by the time Virginia got to vote, McCain was the nominee).

The only thing I denied was that I was working for any campaign; that was and is the truth, I’m not a political operative. If I support a candidate it’s because I believe they are the best choice; I’m lousy at making decisions like that, so I pretty much don’t pick a candidate until the field is pretty thinned. That’s why I gave money and collected signatures for multiple candidates in 2008.
