A Plant City High School teacher has resigned after acknowledging she bought a "morning after pill" for a student and had inappropriate Facebook conversations with the student's boyfriend.
Ginger Parks, a 17-year teaching veteran, resigned her job Sept. 22, less than a week after she was confronted with the allegations. She faced firing if she didn't quit, Hillsborough County School District records show.
Parks, who taught English, also was the school's cheerleading coach. She at first denied any misconduct, the district reported, but changed her story when district investigator Andrew J. Rouleau told Parks he had 40 pages of printouts of her Facebook conversations furnished by the boy's father.
According to Rouleau's report contained in district records, Parks acknowledged:
* Furnishing an emergency contraceptive, often called the morning after pill, to a boy, who gave it to his girlfriend after they had unprotected sex following the October 2009 homecoming dance. The contraceptive is available without a prescription to adults, the report said.
* Having Facebook conversations with the boy that were laced with four-letter words and other inappropriate dialogue. In one she wrote that "a teenaged boy's sex drive doesn't come close to mine." In another she wrote she thinks about having sex with everyone she sees.
* Attempting to meet a student the report isn't clear if it is one of the students in the contraceptive pill incident -- at Alderman's Ford Park in rural East Hillsborough County.
* Changing a grade as a "favor."
Parks could not be reached Friday for comment.
"It's completely inappropriate," said Linda Cobbe, spokeswoman for the school district. "A teacher should never provide any student with any kind of medication that is not provided by the student's parents to the school."
Cobbe also criticized the Facebook comments: "It seemed like too close of a relationship. A teacher and a student should never have that type of conversation, ever."
The girl's mother brought the allegations to the school district's attention in September after her daughter complained Parks used profanity toward her during a chance encounter at a Plant City restaurant, the report states. Parks asked the girl if she had been spreading rumors about the teacher, it says.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office declined to prosecute for lack of evidence of a crime, the school district's report said.
The students' names were removed from a copy of the report provided to TBO.com.

Pervert teachers have a career option with the TSA
He’d hit it.
I am so sick and tired of reading about these out of control teachers. I never had these female teachers hit on me. I feel left out and seriously depressed over the matter.
Y’know. It’s not too late to go hit on some lonely teachers. They seem to be so lonely and could use a more age appropriate friend.
I agree. It's a tremendous injustice that this sort of thing was not available to me. Somebody ought to be sued, somewhere.
and they make you do it over and over again until you get it right
What is going on in this world?
What is going on in this world?
Wake up! You’re dreaming again.
Al Baby has been suspended for inappropriate behavior. Serves the potty mouth right.
She reminds me of Betty White.
She reminds me of Betty White.
Not the ear rings the one on her neck silly
What were they thinking in the 70’s? I was born in 1976 and when I see the old movies/shows I can help but be in shock over how hideous the clothes were! I liked the way people wore their hair, but the color combinations of the clothing were ugly as sin.At least the guys wore their pants the correct way!
I did it wrong. I was chubby for much of my adult life. No women hit on me for the most part. Became a gym rat 4 years ago and now have 8 -pack abs at age 48 and 9-10% body fat and now women hit on me all the time(no fraudin) but I'm happily married...but trust me it does get frustrating at times. Women are so brazen today.
I always end up doing things backaswards.
She’s even getting up close and personal with that trophy!
If he made a video, I’d watch Laz hit it.
Some women stick with a style that they thought looked good on them at a particular age and in a particular era.... and then just RIDE IT OUT!
Really shows the difference between the male and female psychy doesn't it??
Really, how do you know I am suspended?
Yeah it was pretty horrendous, like those Leisure Suits Hillary still Wears his
I’d probably trip and fall on those platform shoes they wore. I like 70’s music, movies and shows, though.”Good Times” is one of my favorites, but when James Sr.was killed off the show started to go downhill. How many white women in their 30’s would like that show,as well as the funk/R&B groups such as the Commodores, the Ohio Players,Rufus and Chaka Kahn (I think I misspelled the last name),and Parliament?
Im as white as snow but Parliament is one of my favs still listen to that crap at least once a week
Earth, Wind and Fire, baby!
I like the sound of that type of music. It has an energy to it.Groups like Parliament and the Commodores perform real music, unlike the real crap that you’ll hear nowadays.
Oh, can't let your screen name go by without posting a pic of Curly Bill!
I have no idea how to post images. My favorite part of that movie is when he comes out of the opium tent and starts firing his pistols into the air and into the windows. The fact that he was howling made it even funnier.I’m amazed at the clothes he wore in “Guyana Tragedy”.An orange shirt with a white tie? Ugh.
That’s another group I like.
We used to get the Ohio Players albums just for the album covers.
The ‘20s and ‘70s were probably the wildest decades of the 20th century for fashion.
I read an interesting article once about what was the best decade of the 20th century to be a young (18-24 yo) person. The author broke down each decade starting with the 1920s. It went something like this:
‘20s - A crazy decade. Flappers, Model T Fords, bootleg booze, jazz music. Wouldn’t have been a bad time to live in.
‘30s - Life was hard because of the Depression and there was less opportunity for fun, but the decade still had a certain glamor to it.
‘40s - Hopefully your 18th birthday was in the summer of 1945. Otherwise, forget about it.
‘50s - The early part of the decade probably meant that you were going to end up in Korea. Otherwise, the rock-and-roll era was pretty fun. Still had a peacetime draft though, as Elvis found out.
‘60s - “No war! Hell no, we won’t go!” Not the best time to be in the 18-24 age bracket despite some awesome music.
‘70s - (the author’s favorite decade) Great time to be young. Vietnam and the draft ended, and AIDS had yet to come along and spoil the party. Some great rock music before ‘80s hair metal came and ruined it. Disco wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, though...
‘80s - Almost as good as the ‘70s in this guy’s opinion. As mentioned above, AIDS ended the sexual revolution. Some great music and the rise of computers and video games.
‘90s - Not big on the grunge thing and this decade resulted in the epidemic of rap music that we’re still plagued by. The birth of the Internet.
“At least they acknowleged the fact that AIDS was primarily a gay man’s disease back in the 70s and 80s.”
LOL! I hadn’t even thought that the guy might have been unhappy with the event of AIDS because...you can connect the dots.
I remember Michael Savage saying “When I wrote my book ‘Maximum Immunity’ in 1985, I was attacked because I wouldn’t say politically-correct things about the AIDS epidemic. You see, I was actually trying to help people. My critics were only interested in advancing various agendas.”
The gays know that what they are doing is wrong. They may not want to admit it,but deep down inside they know it.They have no self-respect.If they did then they would not be sleeping around and sodomizing each other. It’s sickening. One day they will lose control of their bowels and have to wear adult diapers. It’s like I said before.Drug addicts/alcoholics are urged,or even forced,to get help, yet homosexuals and lesbians are told that what they are doing is fine.
It’s too bad that my fellow women act like sluts. There used to be a time when men didn’t use bad language in front of a lady, and the ladies themselves would not use foul language, either.Have you ever seen “Little House on the Prairie”? Too bad those days are gone.
