The AP reports today that Dr. Laura Schlessinger will move directly from terrestrial radio syndication, through her Take On The Day shop, to Sirius XM as of January 3, 2011. Schlessinger voluntarily decided to leave terrestrial radio after the mid-August N-word controversy, and hadnt made any announcement about her radio plans past December 31. (She already has a full schedule of other activities, including personal appearances and her writing.) Its unclear whether this news was supposed to get out over the holiday weekend, because the AP story says Sirius XM said Monday it has a multi-year deal with Schlessinger. There was no press release about Dr. Laura on the Sirius website, but the new arrangement seems to be a natural for both sides.
Will her tatoos be going too?
What N-word controversy?
You can read about it Here.
She largely reflects what I think on a range of issues, but she makes for unpleasant radio IMHO.
And really unpleasant TV
Never been crazy about her. Although, on my later night drives home Alex Jones is beginning to grow on me. Conspiracy theories have been the hit of the thanksgiving break.
The sheep and the goats are being separated
Sean Hannity is another I agree with politically but can't listen to. He's a harpy. Granted, he's cheering for our side, but I prefer not to tune him in, radio or tv.
Yeah I’ve tried to listen to her but it’s just not enjoyable.
I don’t care for her too much, I agree with some of her opinions but she is a raging B most of the time. Of course the mentality of the folks who call her could provoke the B to come out in any one.
Dr. Laura's new tattoo.
I guess so. LOL.
Twirling the radio dial late at night I come across her show on WJAR (right call letters) on 760 from Detroit and I occasionally listen for a while. One thing that strikes me is that I have yet to hear any woman (or man) calling in who has a Southern accent. Isn’t that odd for a national radio show? Anyone else who has noticed this?
Doug, you are spot on!
Dr. Laura now advocates for open gays in the military too.
