That was just terrible, Gail. What a mess you all had! Glad you all were not as cold as we are here. I think I saw where you said it wasn’t too cold. It was 22 this morning and warmed up to 32 later....still felt bitter out there!

By the way, your insurance would take care a lot of those expenses for you. My brother had that to happen a few years ago in Georgia. They got new carpet, plus people to come in and clean the mess. It leaked down into the den and ruined the furniture and they had that replaced. Their insurance was mighty good during that mishap.

It is a lot of fun. I thought I would never learn some of the things I do today without thinking. Billie taught me really well with tables, graphics, fonts and the falling snow and many other things. She’s a very patient teacher!!

It does take a long time to learn it all. I can remember when I scoured the HTML sites to learn new things. Then I got into javascript but it doesn’t work here. I can use it on web pages though.

Evenin' Amy.

Thought I'd start out the month of December with a pic from days gone by (as you can see by the shorts, the photo was in much warmer temperatures 8^)

It's a sign I made a few years ago to honor our troops. It's been displayed in Fresno and up here in Modesto.

It's become a bit tattered and torn and I need to make a replacement and display it in front of our house.

Support Our Troops!

She was calmer than most adults, and kept reassuring her father. I have to say, that 5-year old was awesome!

Times Of Refreshing
December 2, 2010

What do you find most refreshing? A cold drink on a hot day? An afternoon nap? Listening to praise and worship music?

The biblical theme of refreshing has a variety of physical and spiritual meanings. In Scripture we read of refreshment by resting on the Sabbath (Ex. 23:12), with cool water after physical activity (Judg. 15:18-19), by soothing music (1 Sam. 16:23), and with encouraging fellowship (2 Tim. 1:16).

The apostle Peter describes a time of spiritual refreshment that took place on the Day of Pentecost. He exhorted his listeners to repent and respond to the gospel “that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19). The apostle’s statement was especially meaningful to the Jewish audience with its reference to the millennium when Messiah would rule. But the good news of spiritual life would also be extended to the Gentiles (Acts 10).

Even now as believers we can experience a time of refreshing by quieting our hearts in a devotional time of prayer and Bible reading. When we spend time alone with the Lord, we can experience His peace and joy which renew us in spirit. Aren’t you thankful for these daily times of spiritual refreshment?

A Prayer: Lord, I need my spirit refreshed and
renewed today. Speak to me through Your Word that I
might hear Your heart, and help me to share my heart
with You in prayer. Amen.

When we draw near to God, our minds are refreshed and our strength is renewed.

Read: Acts 3:17-26

Repent . . . , so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. —Acts 3:19
Bible in a year:
Ezekiel 42-44; 1 John 1

It was 54 yesterday, about the same today. That is usual for us this time of the year, maybe a tad colder, but not much..we drop down into the low 30’s at night.

OLD age got the pipes, not the cold.

We’ve already called the ins company and yes it is covered. Calling a contractor today for estimates. Hubby is quite handy with small plumbing problems and got that fixed..a valve went bad under the sink, then on the hot water tank all at the same time. For safety sake he replaced the cold water one too. Damage is really limited to the wet carpet and ceiling since the leaks were caught quick. We have a tiled kitchen, so no floor damage there. Even the cabinets weren’t damaged...poo, I need them redone they are 45 yrs old. LOL.

We quickly moved the dinning set out of the dinning room before the water got to it...hutch is the biggest worry as we can’t move it without emptying it totally out and it still would be hard to move.

Took the shop vac to the carpet along with the carpet shampooer and got the worst of the water up. Fans on and under the carpet the past 2 days, surface is now fairly dry, pad is still damp. If the carpet has to go in the dinning room I’d SMILE and put a good laminate in it’s place.

Just thankful it didn’t get into the den...45 year old hard wood flooring there.
