(Vanity) Watching Bears/Pats game saw an ad for 60 minutes

Posted on 12/12/2010 2:29:13 PM PST by jakerobins

Not that I would watch the show 60 minutes but....Geez they have a segment with Boehner tonight and he's CRYING AGAIN! What's with this guy! I was hoping we would get a Speaker that was a FIGHTER. Is it too late to take a recount? I would take Bauchman in a second......

Winston Churchill cried quite a bit. Just a sign of emotion. Hey, at least he has emotions other than anger and envy (e.g., Clinton/Obama/Carter, etc).

I’ll judge him on his actions rather than his tears.

I saw a preview of him crying, Jake, and I frankly don’t know whether to smack him or hug him.

First, Boehner (pronounced BONER by my husband, on purpose, I dunno) is quite a handsome fellow. He has smoldering good looks, piercing blue eyes and yeah, I’d do him. Doubt that he’d “do” me but moving on....

So it’s nice that a real man wouldn’t be afraid of tears. BUT THERE’S POINT WHERE TOO MUCH IS TOO MUCH, YA THINK?

But I dunno, maybe they’re talking about something extraordinarily sad. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt but I’m starting to think there might be a girly man hidden under those astonishing eyeballs.

Tears are not the opposite of laughter. Tears and laughter are signs of emotion. The opposite of emotions is nothingness.

Thank God Boehner is an emotional/feeling person. It is what divides us from the animals.

LOL. He rather reminds me of a throwback to the Dean Martin age -— maybe it’s the Ohio connection, the golf sweaters and the rugged good looks.

If he’s crying she likely asked him about his early family life, his humble beginnings, and did he ever dream or imagine that he would one day become SOTH.

Men and tears- now there’s a topic!

It can be endearing- depending on the occasion. It should, however, be rare and heartfelt.

Gay men get a pass.

Sometimes a man can be either dead inside or prone to rage- (yes, so can some women- not a sexist comment) a few tears would be beneficial for them.

John Boehner is quite attractive in a 1970’s kind of way (don’t ask me what that means- I can’t explain it!) so I’ll just have to wait and see what the tears were about.

Thinking of GWB when he wept sometimes (and his dad, at the drop of a hat) vs. The One- whom I’ve never seen shed a tear...I’d pick a Bush type guy over The One any day.

That is not true. What did you do to assist? Did you become a PC in your district? We are working so hard at the precinct level to put more conservatives onboard. It’s going to take longer than one election. Talk like that is just counterproductive.

Beck is righteous man. I believe Boehner is also a righteous man (based on his past). 10 times out of ten I would rather have them on my side than the likes of Obama, Rahm, Axlerod, etc... Beck is more than rhetoric, he is substance. In my book that wins every time. In so far as Republican Progress is concerned, I would much rather see absolutely nothing done than the continuation of what has been happenning. I think we need to regress first.

tender hearts, as I did with Pres. Bush.

It appears quite boo hoo in the clip, but
we’ll see the context of the whole thing.
It may be another mention about his tough
childhood and where he is today, and it’s
certainly moving ..but whatever .. you know
how it’ll be reported by the lamestreams.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/12/09/60minutes/main7134156.shtml

Rep. Boehner, a famously emotional man, cried several times during interviews, on topics such as his family and his principles.

http://swampland.blogs.time.com/2010/12/12/tonights-60-minutes-today-john-boehner-man-in-the-arena/

BOEHNER: We have to govern. That’s what we were elected to do.
STAHL: But governing means compromising.
BOEHNER: It means working together.
STAHL: It also means compromising.
BOEHNER: It means finding common ground.
STAHL: Okay, is that compromising?
BOEHNER: I made it clear— I am not going to compromise on my principles, nor am I going to compromise—
STAHL: What are you saying?
BOEHNER: —the will of the American people.
STAHL: You’re saying, “I want common ground, but I’m not going to compromise.” I don’t understand that. I really don’t.
BOEHNER: When you say the word “compromise— “
STAHL: Yeah.
BOEHNER: a lot of Americans look up and go, “Oh, oh, they’re going to sell me out.” And so finding common ground— I think (NOISE) makes more sense.
