American Film Institute announces top 10 films
insidemovies. ^ | Dec 12 | Dave Karger

The American Film Institute has announced its list of top 10 features of the year, which reads like a tally of leading Oscar contenders: Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The Kids Are All Right, 127 Hours, The Social Network, The Town, Toy Story 3, True Grit, and Winter’s Bone. The AFI jury (which included my EW colleague Lisa Schwarzbaum) also gave special awards to two films that were not eligible for the top 10: The King’s Speech (ineligible because it’s British) and Waiting for “Superman” (which couldn’t be considered because it’s a documentary).

I’ve seen Inception and Toy Story 3. I want to see True Grit and possibly The Fighter. I heard James Franco’s performance in 127 Hours is incredible.

Have seen Inception, Winter’s Bone, The Town and The Social Network. Inception and The Town were entertaining but Best Picture? No way. Winter’s Bone and The Social Network were Excellent!

I always watch for the first nimrod to poison the well.

Eww, really winter’s bone? That movie was not that great, it was OK, not even worth a second watch. Maybe if you like redneck methhead hoedown with some imbred mafia, this might be the movie for you.
