On the evening of 7 April 1775, Samuel Johnson, ardent Tory, made the famous statement, “Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel.”

Father-in-law charged for Al-Qaeda slur

Published: 2 Nov 07 12:13 CET

A man in southern Sweden has been charged with slander after informing American authorities that his son-in-law had links with Al-Qaeda.

The unsuspecting Lund man was given a terrorist’s welcome when he landed at Orlando International Airport in August last year. A computer technician by trade, he had traveled to the US to participate in a conference.

But no sooner had he arrived at the US airport than he was hauled aside by armed security guards and taken in for questioning where he was grilled about his religious and political beliefs. When the interrogation was over he was thrown into a cell that he claimed was smeared with blood and excrement.

Some eleven hours after the start of his ordeal, the hapless traveler was put on a plane back to Sweden.

When setting out for Orlando, he had clearly not reckoned with the machinations of his scheming father-in-law.

I just checked the AppStore; comments there pretty much mirror those here.

I would give it a one star rating, but you have to own it (it’s free) to rate it, and I don’t even want it on my system.

Worse things than being deported will be visited upon the person so racist as to try to “report” an illegal alien. And they will know who you are.

I think we ALL need to get this AP and then proceed steadily and constantly reporting each and every TSA jackboot whose name tag we can identify. Add each and every Democrat Congressman, Senator and government official we can name and report. Inundate them with reports................

I can only see the government back-tracing the "reporter" and going after them! One thing I learned today is the battery can't be removed from an iPhone, so they can't ever really be turned off.

So, when one downloads this, one may comment? Yes, I see people on the app page have a negative view. But it is only for Apple products, so I can’t participate. I hope they get more reviews like the ones that are posted already.

Blackberry’s do do the App Store. At least not the Apple App Store. Don’t know if there’s a Backberry app or not.

So far, there doesn't seem to be anything for Blackberry. I don't even need my Blackberry anymore because I gave up my business since the health care reform, and the side-regulations, were passed. I'm not a happy camper. But I am addicted to being able to access Free Republic from my Blackberry.

You really aren’t serious about this “if you aren’t doing anything wrong......” stuff are you? Seriously? We have a Constitution which is supposed to afford its citizens due process! Not conjecture and unverified suspicion. Unbridled accusation leads to horrific outcomes - go back to 1933-1945 and reread the history.

"can it be used to report sexual assaults at the airport in the security lines?"

I was thinking it might be handy to report suspicious persons entering and exiting vehicles.

You would know if they were suspicious looking by a postive check for certain types of Bumper stickers attached to the cars.

The Types of Bumper stickers would be:

Obama/Biden bumper Stickers.

Green Peace Bumper Stickers

Global Warming Bumper Stickers

Acorn Bumper Stickers

SEIU and Other "Union" Bumper Stickers

(Any additions to the list are more than welcome.)

Yup, and Bush and Poindexter are grinning over things like this, that their dreams of having a lot of Americans report on each are still alive and well in 2010 under Obama, especially since it's got the added twist of being a private company trying to pull it off.

Someday, Bush and Poindexter's 'Information Awareness Office' will come into being. It's a race to see whether or not it will be a Democrat or a RINO to finally pull off Poindexter's dream of having a central database collecting information about every American citizen rather than the loose collection of databases we have now.
