They were complaining about a drought...so there ya go.
It poured all weekend, we need the rain down South (CA).
The enviro-weenies are running out of ideas (cold, water).
A few downed tree branches from the wind. But so far, so good.
Not to worry, they’ll be talking about the drought come June.
wait until some dams and levees let go.. if the rain don’t get ‘em, the spring run-off from record snow pack will..
we skirted the northern edge of the moisture yesterday and today, it’s drying out,, but all the stuff going south will be swinging back up this way soon enough.. the trees have only begun to fall..
Gorbal warming.
As long as we get periodic breaks in the rain so it does not flood, we are ok. We always need the rain or we have to constantly ration our water and listen to the drought reports. I have not seen much of any damage in the Bay Area. Tahoe is happy as clams.
We haven’t received too much, but enough steady rain so that the ground is pretty saturated. Any addn’l is gonna run right off on the surface & thats when things get difficult.
I noticed the LA River was raging away yesterday.
I’m in Laguna Beach, my daughter and I have been watching where a creek runs into the ocean for the past week. It’s been fascinating to watch how the beach landscape is changing with the extra water run off.
I’m ready for the rain to go away though.
Nothing out of the ordinary, although, the wind did cause some of my blood oranges to drop. Other than that, bring the rain, though I do hope it clears enough tonight to see the eclipse.
A shame that a great deal of the water will run off into the ocean. Why not construct the worlds largest dams all over the state to capture the rainwater? Then there would be enough water for the farmers and the precious little smelt.
TB, never fear, Norm is keeping the rain talley!
Dec, 19 - 27"
Dec, 18 - 37"
Dec, 17 - 38"
with 11 days left in December, they only need 6 more inches to have the snowiest December since the ski resort opened
I love blood oranges and satsumas.. good stuff. all my fruit are picked.
tonight is really iffy for favorable viewing.. I was out last nioght and saw the moon thru some haze altho there was clear sky nearby.. I doubt tonight will be like that with the next blast coming in.. Good luck!
Lots and lots of drizzle.
