My deer hunting friends here in North Louisiana say they’re quite a problem now.

http://www.hogbiz.com/

We travel throughout Louisiana to remove feral pigs for landowners, golf courses, farmers and ranchers. Our professional feral pig management service has been used by small ranchers with less than 200 acres, all the way up to 15,000 acres. We charge no fees, but tips are appreciated and accepted.

we intend to kill every one we see. They are really getting bad here in TX.

Dusty, we should talk.

Am planning a pig safari from South GA through LA and then Dallas/Farmersville TX late next summer.

Maybe something can be worked out?

There are plenty of them here in NW Florida tho I think not as many as some areas.

Someone hit a wild hog not far from here. I hope it didn’t damage their car too much as it was a huge one. I bet over 500lbs.

In South Ga...them crazy azz country boys use dogs to chase and catch them...alive. Then they run corn through the hog for a moon before slaughtering them.

Two thoughts come to mind:

There are no wolves left in France to speak of. The European Grey Wolf is more inclined to attack humans than their North American counterpart.

Corn-fed boar. Sounds like it's time to fire up the BBQ.

Pigs are both carnivores and scavengers - as are chickens.

When I lived in DeFuniak Springs we had some neighbors who did that. They would have their dogs bay them then grab them by the hind legs.

They would pen them up and feed them etc. for a month or so then process them. As far as I know none of them were ever hurt tho I noticed their dogs all had scars on them.

Your pictures look like the ones Mr Ditter gets with his game cam. We have a ranch south of Houston and the wild hog population astounded us when he put out the cameras. He hasn't hunted them (yet) but I was not impressed with the hog meat I ate a few years ago. It was strong and gamey, barf!

These pictures were taken 50 miles west of Fort Worth.
Piggie run amuck, for sure.
Recipe is everything, and if it is prepared right it’s great!

Dogs are killed regularly hog hunting here...usually due to a broken neck.

Doesn’t the sex and age of the animal have something to do with it too?

Chickens and pigs are omnivores. Cats are carnivores.
