Just wondering if anyone else out there is spending the evening alone. Not necessarily a bad thing. I'm sipping a cappuccino and taking in "A Christmas Story" in the old man cave. I'll be with family tomorrow, but as of tonight, it's my faithful Boxer and me. And Ralphie.

I’ve had the strangest thing happen lately. My 5-6 cardinal flock has turned to 30-40 over the last couple weeks.
It used to be just the male and his wife and one kid or so, now it’s a whole extended family, who bring 3-4 fledglings apiece. Out of nowhere a barrage drops out of the trees like rocks, it’s everybody rolling in for sunflower seed and a splash in the fountain.
One of the young guns has me trained: he attacks the window next to my laptop until I take more seed out.
My dog’s laying in front of the fireplace dreaming he’s chasing rabbits or something.Wife’s watching a chick flick, I’m trying to get my nephews laptop going ,,, again.Ain’t snowing,watching Tulsa/Hawaii,,life’s good.

Sigh. Reading all the replies and the contentment about being alone. I am home with my wife and three younger children. Should be enough, no? However, my oldest daughter got married this past summer and is living in Virginia (we’re in MO). Her husband has to work tomorrow, so this will be the first Christmas without all of them with me. Feelin’ kinda sad. . . .
I almost bought some red wine for the evening, but have been taking a break from it for a short while. Been a fan of some inexpensive Syrah and Beaujolais for the past year or so.
Wouldn’t mind having a glass about now. But, the cappuccino is doing me just fine.
