OK, fellow Freepers, next year is almost upon us. And, no doubt, it will be interesting. So here's your chance to show off your powers of prediction. Tell us what you think will happen next year..on any subject(s), as many as you wish... politics, sports, the economy, who will die next year, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars..anything and everything..as many as you want.
Ha ha ha...OJ is going to find himself. It’s about time.

I predict legislation which will be intended to:
1. Silence Rush, Beck, and Sean, Fox News
2. End homeschooling
I predict a major attack against the US at home or abroad and an impotent response to it.
The Baltimore Orioles will have a losing season.
Unless Peter Angelos dies.
Someone relatively high up in the hussein obama administration does something so egregious they are finally indicted and face charges.
Illegal alien violence along the southern border becomes so bad the MSM is embarrassed into reporting on it.
At least one, if not two or even as many as three minor (lone gunman) Muslim terrorist attacks on US soil. The MSM will continue to downplay the Muslim angle. Total deaths from the incidents a little under one hundred. DHS uses this as an excuse to further their Gestapo leanings, without actually addressing the real problem.
hussein obama and his big-government cohorts in crime will continue to push their agenda usurping our rights. The GOP House, having seen the bloodshed last November, will stand up to them.
AGW will drop out of the MSM news like it never happened. Instead, the would-be power-grabbers will morph, using any bad storm, any weather (good, bad, hot, cold) to push their new “rapid climate change” scam. Here’s a hint, climate is weather over the long term...”rapid climate change” is just “weather” and yes, there’s some good, some bad, but it is almost always going to be off-average.
Gas tops $3.00 a gallon nationwide, and stays there. The MSM gives hussein obama a pass, while they would have vilified former President Bush.
The dollar continues to lose value.
US deaths in Afghanistan continue to rise thanks to hussein obama’s insane ROE. Some desertions and AWOLs begin to leak into the news. Who wants to walk into a meat grinder with one arm tied behind their back?
At least one lawsuit thanks to the repeal of DADT - where some homosexual claims he/she/it was passed-over for promotion or a plum assignment just because he/she/it came out and is openly homosexual.
The economy begins to recover, ever so slightly. Partly because you just can’t hold it down too long, no-matter what the government does - businesses will find a way to make money, that is their job. Mostly it is due to the GOP controlled House shutting down parts of the hussein-insane agenda, and businesses beginning to see a capitalist, free-market light at the end of a 4 year big-government socialist tunnel.
Talk about playing safe! LOL
I think it’s Leahy who will have health issues. He’s old too, and he hasn’t looked all that great in a while. Having so much hatred and meanness inside isn’t good for the body. It would be surprising if Leahy can go much longer without negative physical repercussions of some kind. [Not that I wish him ill. I just wish he’d retire—along with most of the other ancient congressional fixtures.]

And the swift collapse of the real estate bubbles in China, Australia, and Canada will put big stress on the world economy, making the US dollar look like a pretty good alternative. Expect the dollar to strengthen, and deflation to continue to be the dominant theme, in spite of Bernanke's frantic efforts to recreate the Carter era for middle Americans so that certain politically inconvenient speculators can escape their bad bets unharmed.
Politically, it will become evident the Republicans have no viable candidate for 2012, and it's going to look like 1996 and 2008 all over again. By the end of the year, as Romney sinks ever lower in the polls, the party will turn to Jeb Bush as the "savior", enraging conservatives and the MSM, alike.
All states in trouble will be bailed out. All cities in trouble will be bailed out. All pension funds in trouble will be bailed out. The Federal dollars needed are far less than we have already (secretly) spent propping up the banks.
"Death panels" will be reframed as "smart spending" - since taking away $500K or more of end-of-life care from wrinkly old white Republicans can provide a ton of free services to young potential Democrat voters.
Osama bin Laden will remain dead and buried in Tora Bora where he has been since December 2001, serving as a useful tool for both sides. The Afghan war's current objectives will be widely recognized as unachievable, but Obama won't pull out because he won't want to be known in the history books as the guy that gave up. We'll be there until mid-2013, at least.
Giants will win their second straight World Series, sending the East Coast Media into convulsions. :)
