The NFL has fined Brett Favre $50,000 for his lack of cooperation in its investigation into allegations that the quarterback sent inappropriate text messages and photos to former Jets in-game host Jenn Sterger in 2008 when both were with the organization.
Here is the statement issued today by the NFL on the matter:
The NFL office conducted an investigation to determine whether Brett Favres interaction with New York Jets game-day employee Jenn Sterger in 2008 violated the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.
In reviewing the matter, the sole focus was on whether there was a violation of league policies regarding conduct in the workplace. NFL policies do not extend to private conduct or make judgments about the appropriateness of personal relationships, except where that conduct or those relationships raise issues under the law or league policies.

Are you sure it’s the last game of his career?
He should have stayed retired. Now he will just be a joke.
Who would want him now?
He should announce his retirement effective immediately and tell the NFL to take a hike.
“Now what we have here Little Sister, is a magnificent specimen of pure Mississippi Whitesnake, but ain’t too goddamn beaucoup.” — Brett Farve
Is that what they call it now?
I’ll give ya 25 million reasons why he didn’t stay retired. KaaChing!
It is a shame tho to go out this way.. altho he may get off cheap if this is it.. He’s a first round Hall of Famer either way. The NFL base love their rebels and miscreants too..
Well, there’s always that league in Canada. What’s it called?
I really thought the NFL would let this one die on the vine.
I think they tried, but there was too much pressure to go forward, or else.....
Just where is that $50,000 going ??? The NFL should be required to show where all that and other fine $$$ goes .
Well, there are costs associated with the investigation....and, well...umm.......er......
Possible pedophilia. Hard to believe those pics are of a grown man.
LOL
Someone suggested recently that Green Bay could sign him to a one day contract so he could retire as a Packer and they can retire his number.
I hope that doesn’t happen.
Why? It’s their business, and it’s not really your concern where the money goes.
