Since 0bamaCare was passed, we have had our insurance contributions raised from $248.00 PM, to $379.00 PM. We have, now, been hit with a deductible of $1000.00 PY per person, whereas before we had none. Our office visit co-pay was doubled to $40.00 per visit...even on visits to renew prescriptions. Our Ins. Co, BCBS, won't pay for in office services such as X-Rays, blood work (other than "standard panels"), and now we can't even go to the same Dr. that offers Colonoscopies, Angios, CT's or...I don't know what else. Now, we have to go to an "Outpatient Center" and pay $100.00 PLUS and overages from the their service providers! A Colonoscopy will now cost ME $735, if I use my insurance, or, I can go to a "discount" center and get it for $535.00, without using insurance.

And the icing on the cake is...ALL of my meds have now soared! For instance, Uroxatral was $30.00, it now is $115.00! Hydrochlorothiazide was $4.00, it is now $37.00. Those are only two of the 5 meds I take! Can't wait to see what happens to the Wife's Thyroid meds.

I've spoken to my State Senator, a Dem, and he doesn't believe (so he says) that 0bamaCare has anything to do with it, but asked me to come back in Feb. with a list. Which I will do, and with receipts.

Please share your cost increases and other experiences, I want to have both chambers loaded!

Thanks

I have outright paid, or contributed to health insurance for 39 years. Other than very irregular checkups and a few chest x rays, I've not ever used it. Not even for my vasectomy, and later, a reversal of the same. lol Now, when I need it, I'm getting the 0bama proctological exam!

Obviously you wanted Obama to get the public option where someone else would pay for your health care.

Massachusetts, home of Mitt Romney’s RomneyCare.

Grandma, old, blind, a wreak, smoker, just going to keel over type, actually sort of wants to go and is ready. Anyway, her favorite GP sniffle Doc/decline manager, announced a quarterly retainer fee of $375 to be seen. We can’t blame him.

So, since Romneycare, costs have gone up, access down, Doctors leaving.

Brilliant!

Our premium doubled from $800 to $1,600 per month. Had to reduce the coverage to get back some of the increase.

My cardiologist had me on a prescription med for heartburn. The insurance company refused the renewal of the drug, so had to go to OTC Prilosec (is not as good).

Looks like you are keeping the fat cats in the health insurance industry on easy street.

I have a FSA Savings Plan @ work. Starting tomorrow I will need a prescription to receive over the counter stuff like Claritin, Liquid Tylenol for the kids, Zyrtec, etc. What the heck good does that do - unless the goal is to make the benefit too cumbersome to use?

I already stocked up as much as I could and will have to take another look when it comes time to sign up again in March.

Don’t lose perspective in this. Obamacare is NOT about health care. It is a POWER-GRAB. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is simply a mechanism to extort money from YOU!!!!

More $$ for less coverage. I'm guessing it's probably the same everywhere. Anyone that believed 0bamacare would reduce the cost of health care is a fool.

Wife had an insurance guy talk at her workplace and explained that years worth of coding various medical procedures into their computers will have to be completely redone, which is a huge and expensive undertaking.

I side with your rep. Obamacare doesn’t have anything to do with it. Call your employer or insurance co.

Does that mean no one can walk in and buy OTC meds? Does that include generics?

It’s going to get even worse. When ObamaCare talks about “reducing payments to providers”, that is mumbojumbo for reducing payments to doctors, labs, and hospitals! The local non-profit regional hospital that I have worked at for over ten years is in financial trouble. We have always been financially sound in that past decade - until the new payment schedules. From what I hear in the field all the local hospitals are in trouble. We are barely paid enough to cover services provided to patients. And don’t get me started on FreeCare that we HAVE TO PROVIDE for illegals and others without insurance.

Because of the lack of tort reform, hospitals (and docs) have to make sure they order enough tests to “CYA” so they won’t be sued if a condition is missed. The number of hospitals and doctors will be dwindling as this nightmare continues! How can any business (and yes a doctor’s office and a hospital are businesses) stay in business with rising insurance and liability costs and shrinking revenues? The answer is: they can’t!

“coding various medical procedures...”

I believe it. Now, not even my doctor can tell what is allowed, or not. They have to CALL the insurance co. and tell them their code, and the insurance rep. tells the Dr the ins co code and how much is allowable, but NOT how much the procedure is at the referral Dr. I had to do that leg work myself.

Really? My suspicions are that it does. Mostly they need to raise everything to cover their, uh, assets. Because, really, who knows what’s in that/those bills, and how much effect, financially and in practice, they’ll have. Let’s not even get into all of the new paperwork, reporting, compliance, coding, etc. that’s necessary.

You left out the part where the extorted money is to give “free” healthcare to 30 million welfare folks and illegal aliens.

Obamacare is about nothing more than socialized medicine, taking medical care away from those who have earned it and giving it to those who haven’t.
