Controversial research claiming a link between the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine and autism has already been discredited, but now the researcher behind the study is accused of making up the data.
Dr. Andrew Wakefield made the link between the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine and the development of autism.
He claimed, after studying 12 children, eight showed behavioral symptoms, 6.3 days after being vaccinated for MMR.
The report caused parents worldwide to stop vaccinating their children. Wakefield's theory was de-bunked in 2009. Now, the prominent British Medical Journal calls Wakefield's study an elaborate fraud.
"I think what Dr. Wakefield did was a moral crime, if not an actual crime," said Brian Deer from the British Medical Journal.
The journal claims Wakefield falsified data, saying some children got sick after the vaccination, when they really didn't.
... The journal also claims Wakefield was paid $750,000 by lawyers who planned to sue the makers of the measles vaccine.

Vaccines are safe. There are few reactions such as Guillain-Barre syndrome.
My wife and I both work in the field and know they are safe. Our 8 week old is getting 4 vaccinations today.

My comment was mainly directed at the double standard of MSM reporting when it comes to liberal agenda issues.
Actually your Andy is a sinister murderer with blood on his hands as his lies have induced credulous fools not to vaccinate their kids who later died.
The only good thing to come out of this mess is that the kids more likely to die are the one of parents who believed these lies. So less idiots will reproduce!

How did such a small sampling gain any credibility at all? Perhaps it is the same as the DDT, tobacco, lead, and asbestos scares when lefties and then politicians demonized a product so that their handmaidens, the trial lawyers, could swoop in and make a killing. The lawyers then laundered some of the money back to the politicians.
This is just as it must be. I cannot fathom the fools who discard one of the greatest achievement of modern medicine in the name of half baked beliefs.

Vaccines are definitely necessary and more than meet the risks/benefits criteria. All 5 of my children have been vaccinated. My wife and I also work in healthcare. The only reason some people can get away with not vaccinating their children is that, thankfully, those of us who do, keep the herd immunity high enough to prevent epidemics.
Wakefield lied and children died. Facts. He deserves to be incarcerated.

I wish one of these people would answer the question as to why, if the vaccinations are the cause of autism, and EVERY child in the U.S. gets them why the rate is only about 1 in 250 for autism? Shouldn't the rate be MUCH higher is their claims were valid?
