Who's got it and what do you think of it? What is there in the way of competition?

I'm curious about this product. I know Karl Denninger is down on netflix as an investment because he thinks they are doomed to failure in the long run. But in the short term, I'm thinking about subscribing. I sure would like to know what if any alternatives are out there.

It’s an outstanding service. I love it.

Competition? Online you have Zune, I guess. Offline I seem to recall that Blockbuster and Walmart have movies by mail.

Netflix is pretty good. You can get a wide variety of movies, both on disc by mail, and by streaming video over the internet.

As for Karl Denninger .... he's a blowhard who's always looking for the worst-case scenario. If he is down on anything, it's probably not all that bad.

Had it for years, works great. Streaming is real.

Don’t know of any competition. (Is Blockbuster still in business?)

I attended a high society party in Richmond VA about 10 years ago. There was a small group of people talking at this new company called ‘Netflix’ and were looking for investors.

I blew it off thinking it was a ridiculous idea.

Go figure.

Guess I’ll keep playing those 7-11 lottery tickets. :(

Love it. Competition is Blockbuster combined with Hulu...and it doesn’t stack up.

Very fast delivery (though I have a distribution center in my town, and problem resolution has been easy (mail lost a CD, reported it, no problems).

Besides the CEO’s politics Netflix is a very good company.

I love it. I get blue ray and if you play it right you get two per week. Plus live stream, its better then paying for premium channels.

I have it and like it. Quick service. Movies arrive quickly. I like the fact that you can start with one movie at a time.
Or if you prefer, two or three. I am currently receiving three at a time. Haven’t had a problem with it.

My Daughter gives me Netflix for various presents. In general their service is pretty good.

For some odd reason, I have more gifts right now than they will let me redeem so I will have to wait a few months to redeem the last one.

Are you looking to watch DVDs or stream your movies?

They have a great selection of DVDs, but the streaming selection isn’t as large. That being said, the streaming side still offers a ton of content that will keep you busy for quite a while.

I’ve been a subscriber since 1999 and don’t have any complaints.

I give Netflix two thumbs up.

I give my internet provider, half a thumb up.

It is a month-to-month contract. Also, if you have a Wii or such, you can watch from there, too.

Also, one can watch from your computer.

I’ve had it for about a year.

Hope this helps.

My family thinks it’s great. I’m not a fan of TV or movies and I’m sick of the grade C- stuff constantly being played on the tube. I suppose it wouldn’t be bad if the users have some amount of disclipline and/or won’t watch garbage just to have something to look at.

Netflix is great. I got rid of my direct tv and don’t miss it. Netflix goes on my big screen through my Wii system.

We just cancelled our NETFLIX service.

Red Box is a much better bargain for only $1.00.

I just dumped cable tv, since the kids got a wii so we could stream Netflix. We LOVE it. I had Netflix before, but the value of the instant streaming makes it more worth the money. They also are being much more efficient at getting the DVDs out. One was in a distant center, so they gave me an extra rental. My kids are watching documentaries like crazy. :)

My son has it. He loves it because they have everything and it’s a very quick turn around time, about 4 days max. He says they stream a lot of movies to his computer if he orders them, and there’s no late fee. He has the cheapest membership $10/month.

Got it about three weeks ago. I love it. I’ve been watching “Dark Shadows” I can remember being a toddler and sitting in my Mom’s lap as she watched it.

I have had it for years — they are pretty good about turnaround and you can get the latest releases pretty darn quickly.

I used to do the 3 DVD plan but backed off to the 1 DVD plan (I watch them pretty quickly), which includes the unlimited streaming.

I have been amazed on how many movies and TV shows are available for streaming. My streaming queue is so backed up it will be months before I catch up.

Got it, like it. Use both the DVD service and the streaming service. Dropped Direct TV movie channels in favor of it.

I've streamed movies to my computer, to the big-screen via a X-Box 360, and even through my iPod Touch (more or less just to prove I could). You can also stream movies through a Wii and a PS3... Oddly enough, not through my android based phone - yet. Nor through Linux, actually have to boot Win 7 and Chrome...

I have it and it's "ok" but I'm not happy that they just raised my rates. The selection of movies you can stream is limited, although that is getting better. I have the "One DVD at a time" plan with unlimited streaming. Usually the turn around when I send a DVD back is very fast.

That said I wasn't too happy about the CEO's attitude towards Americans and why it's OK we should pay higher prices than Canadians!

That kinda torqued me, and if the raise prices again, I'm outta there! I'll use the Redbox at the local Smith's
