Four Stickney teenagers gang-raped a 14-year-old girl and recorded the attacks on a cell phone, police said this morning.
Alex Picallo, 16, Majeed Khalifeh, 18, and Jonathan Leanos, 19, were charged Wednesday with two counts each of aggravated criminal sexual assault in the incident at Leanos Stickney home in the 3900 block of Wesley on Saturday, police said. Picallo was charged as an adult.
A fourth suspect, Vicente Hernandez, 22, of Cicero, was similarly charged today and is scheduled to appear at a bond hearing in the Bridgeview courthouse later today.
Picallo was ordered held on $500,000 bail Tuesday. Khalifeh and Leanos appeared in court in Bridgeview on Wednesday and were ordered held in lieu of $600,000 and $750,000 bail, respectively.
Leanos met the victim, who does not live in Stickney, online on the MySpace site last summer, and they met several times before Leanos took the victim to his house Saturday, police said.
When she refused his request for sex, Leanos took her cell phone and forced her to have sex, police said. He then drove her to pick up Khalifeh and Hernandez, and they all returned to Leanos' house, where they were met by Picallo, police continued. Leanos told the girl to have sex with his friends, and cell phones were used to record the assault.

Never mind.
Now days they more than likely will get their own TV show!
If I found out my son had participated in something like this I would beat within an inch of his life.
These creeps recorded the attack, why is there even a need for a trial? Put them in prison, make them wear shirts that say child rapist.
It seems to always be the same people, over and over again.
When I lived in Chicago, I sadly observed that the Tribune should have a daily story saying: 14 year old girl gang raped and executed by gang members in the Prairie District.” Seems to have happened every day. So sad.
Give ‘em all a good Roman scourging followed by a salt water washdown
Castrate them and throw them in jail for a very long time, problem solved.
...not at the rapists house.
Before I bash the parents here, one must remember that at age 14 one can’t keep your child locked up 24/7 in a convent.
With that said, in my day, yes young girls were raped. Yes it did happen. For the love of God I don’t ever recal anything this bad, or in this manner.
I knew a girl in High School who was raped, at the mall parking lot. She was going to her job when it happened. It was brutal and I don’t recal that it was a gang rape where the gang members recorded it to put on youtube. OH wait..we did not have youtube or cell phones in them their days.
I have a feeling one of those “boys” and I use the term losely was her “friends” and they lured her over there one day just for kicks and to post this on youtube. NOw the article does not say this but I can “go figure” as they said in my day.
She did not know that one can’t trust everyone. She was too young.
“And her parents were...
Never mind.”
Fixed for accuracy.
What these thugs need is a good community organizer to keep them out of trouble.
Midnight basketball?
You can't lock up your kids all the time, but this is a tad much.
The horrible thing is, males of this age range cannot be trusted around females. Especially when the males are in groups.
The other day I was scolding a female friend for jogging in the dark near her apartment. Her point was, "I should be able to jog wherever and whenever I wish!"
In a perfect world, yes. But in our society, men are simply not to be trusted in such ways.
How about a good old fashion Reform School!!!
Wait a minute, one of those boys was 16. Maybe I am old or something but that is not that much older than she. The 19 year old, okay he maybe a bit old but you also never know. Could he have been a friend of the family? Her brother’s friend or something? We don’t know.
You, and I mean “you all” must keep in mind that a lot of schools are now “Middle Schools” then “High schools” that means 14 year olds would go to school with a 16 year old. Not so in my day! It was called “Junior High” and the oldest was 14. I like that way better but you know the “publik skools”. Plus the way some kids don’t do well in school, that 19 year old may very well still have been a student! (failed a grade)
How about a good old fashioned horsewhipping or caning while tied to a post!
A minor met an adult online. She was allowed to meet with him several times. She was allowed to go to his house unsupervised. She's 14! That is like a high school freshman going out with a college freshman.
But in our society, men are simply not to be trusted in such ways.
Males do such things, but they're not really men.
Health care reform!
Haiti, Somalia, the Congo, Detroit.
Every day it seems that evil grows stronger as my heart dies a little. The weight of it is too much. All of it.
This story and the elderly lady body slammed in NY were both on Drudge today. It never ends. It never retreats.
I am beginning to wonder if it’s humanity itself that disgusts me. One day a real rain is going to come.
“Well apparently they allow their 14 yr old daughter unfettered access to the internet which allows her to converse with and meet 19 year old men.”
Almost all kids do /can do that either online, school, church, mall or via cell.
Online you are isolated and more apt to make bad choices. Would you let a female friend go off alone with a 19 year old man she had just met at the mall?
Judging from the names, it looks like our social architects have achieved multicultural diversity. Only, they didn’t realize what their utopia was really going to be.
That is because it wasn't reported. Often, since it was children as some of the perpetrators - the cops wouldn't even investigate thoroughly. So the problem grew. There was little consequence. With the introduction of the Internet, and the ability of anyone determined enough to become their own reporter - the ability of society to suppress uncomfortable realities has been severed.
Lame defense of the parents. There are any number of methods for parents to take to protect their kids. To begin with, at home restrict computer access or monitor computer activity. No computers with internet in the kid’s rooms, software installations and simply talking with them about the dangers of online predators for starters. In terms of cell phones, simply provide your child with a dull phone without internet access or a camera and is limited to calling / texting 9-11 and family numbers. Be proactive with the school / church to ensure that social media sites are not available if the internet is on the premises. Talk with your child’s friend’s parents to see if they are as watchful. If they are, great. If not, they’re not allowed over there unsupervised.
See how easy that was?
We assume that 14 year-old don’t know better which is why you aren’t allowed to have sex with them.
