Adults of all ages can benefit in many ways from jigsaws. They exercise their brains, memory and it increases concentration. It can actually lower your breath rate, heart rate and lower blood pressure. Studies have shown that jigsaw puzzles can actually slow down memory loss, that includes Alzheimer's.

I love working on jigsaw puzzles.
I also do crossword puzzles too.
I read books and newspapers.
I enjoy exercising the “little gray cells” as Agatha Christie’s famous fictional detective Hercule Poirot was so fond of saying.
I have a family member with advanced Alzheimers. She belts out the answers to Wheel of Fortune and spoils the show for the rest of us.
My g-mother had alzheimers. She could recall something that happened in the 20’s but couldn’t remember my name.
I could use some help here, though. There was a specific brand of jigsaw that she insisted on having. She would not buy any other brand, period. No real reason for trying to remember the brand, just a bit of persona trivia for the family.
She was also a daytime soap opera addict and had every issue of TV Guide ever published.
Oh my gosh! How long did it take to get that put together? Was anyone sane by the time the puzzle was finished? It’s wonderful!
I love the Thomas Kinkade puzzles.
A relative of mine was forced as a child to do jigsaw puzzles upside down in order to build brain power. It worked.

I love putting jigsaw puzzles together! Last night I finished my latest and it only took me four months-—which seems pretty good since the box said “2 to 4 years”.
And I thought playing Chess took awhile.
That rings a bell, but I don’t think it’s the one I’m thinking of. This company had hundreds, maybe thousands of puzzles. It’s been driving me nuts for 20 years now. I do recall the Big Ben puzzles and that might have been the ones. Goodness, it’s been 50 plus years.
Are you thinking of the “Bits And Pieces” catalog? I LOVE those things!
