United States District Court, D. Hawaii.

THE HAWAII LAW ON NAMES
The basic statute in Hawaii on names was adopted in 1860.
Until 1967, it was required that all children born in wedlock shall have their father's name as a "family name" and ". . . a Christian name suitable to their sex."

It is interesting that the Pope recently came out and said that Catholics should give Christian names to their children (Shaneequa will not do).
I'm not Catholic, and I think I missed part of the point. On another thread, I mentioned a boy named Ezra and how my Catholic sister-in-law thought he had "one of those crazy names". Well, Ezra is a Hebrew name. It is certainly Biblical. But it is not a New Testament name, and so I think the Pope would not consider Ezra to be a Christian name.
If the above interpretation is correct, than one might say that Barack is also not a Christian name, whether Hebrew or not.
But baraCk is not a Hebrew name OR a muslim name or a Semitic name, or any other name. Before baraCk obama, the NAME, baraCk, virtually did not exist. If you think it did, find it.
Post #42 was for you as well.
Barack is not an English given name.
“In 1860 Kamehameha IV signed the Act to Regulate Names. Hawaiians were to take their father’s given name as a surname, and all children born henceforth were to receive a Christian, i.e. English, given name. Hawaiian names were transferred into middle names. The law was not repealed until 1967.”
This law is from Hawaii: a large number of Hawaiian given names are Japanese, such as Hiroko, Taro, and Hanako. None of those are Biblical in origin, but they are all perfectly common and legitimate names in the Aloha State.
Which begs the question entirely. It is a made up name for a made up person. Period.
What is the source of the two parent rule?
TO REGULATE NAMES.
Be It Enacted, By the King, the Nobles and Representatives of the Hawaiian Islands, in Legislative Council assembled:
1. All married women now living, and all that may be married hereafter on these Islands, shall, from and after the passage of this Act, adopt the names of their husbands as a family name.
Section 2. All children born in wedlock after the passage of this Act shall have their father’s name as a family name.
They shall, besides, have a Christian name suitable to their sex.
Section 3.. All illegitimate children born after the passage of this Act shall have their mother’s name as a family name. They shall, besides, have a. Christian name suitable to their sex.
Section 4. All children up to the age of twenty years shall adopt the names of their fathers as a family name.
Section 5. All names so adopted shall be reported to the agents appointed to take the census of the people during the present year.
Section 6. It shall not be lawful to change any name adopted or conferred under this law. It shall also not be lawful to change any name adopted or conferred before the operation of this law.
Section 7. The father or mother of any children born subsequently to the passage of this Act, shall report the name or names of such child to the Registrar of Births for the district in which such child was born, within three months after the birth of such child.
Section 8. This law shall take effect, and be the law of the land, from and after the date of its passage.
Approved this 24th day of August, A. D. 1860.
And obie did not apply for this latest COLB until 2001 or thereabouts...when he needed it to run for office. He could say whatever he wanted to say simce it was selfsworn. Note that he even spelled his “father’s” name wrong.
Are you familiar with Vattel?
“Barak is a Hebrew name. It means lightning.”
Actually, it’s a Kenyan name meaning “Steaming Road Apple.”
It was the law of Switzerland during the 1700's. And some of the Founding Fathers -- a/k/a "the guys who wrote the U. S. Constition" -- could read French and were great fans of Swiss law.
Ergo, it's axiomatic that the U. S. Supreme Court will some day rule Steve "Barry" Dunham was not born as a U. S. natural citizen.
(Want additional info? Just do a Google search for Vattel and "natural born citizen.")
Moreover, since Soetero-Dunham was never naturalized, he still isn't a U. S. citizen, and he therefore has committed multiple federal felonies not only by registering to vote but also by actually voting in who-knows-how-many U. S. federal elections.
Well, it IS an old testament name...
8 Barak said to her, If you go with me, I will go; but if you dont go with me, I wont go.
9 Certainly I will go with you, said Deborah. But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours, for the LORD will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman. So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh. 10 There Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali, and ten thousand men went up under his command. Deborah also went up with him.
Fits perfectly... the bastard is not a Christian.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, Barry?
Oh wait, Barrabas? The murderer they set free instead of Jesus ...
Barry = short for Barrabas ?
I think Barak is old Arabic meaning “ The blessed one” and Barack is Hebrew for lightning or am I wrong.
