We have Lhasa Apso’s (cousins of shih tzus I think) and I love how they don’t shed. My husband & daughter both have asthma so they’re perfect for us. :)

Two dogs long and half a dog high...

Well Golden’s should have placed second, tied with labs.

I guess you can't be popular if you're elite :-)

She may not come from a “popular” breed but I wouldn’t trade my Rhodesian Ridgeback for any other dog in the world.

Deb, these are brother and sister. Angus belongs to a friend of mine.

Yeah they are good dogs. We also have a Maltese/Pomeranian mix named Nemo..guess people are not into Maltese doggies..Our shih tzu sheds like crazy, you see his fur all over the place. Time for him to go get a grooming but we prolong it as long as possible since here they have a placed called Sparky’s which charges 120 bucks for 2 dogs..don’t know if that is the going rate but its pretty expensive

Enjoy them, my FRiend. Truer and more loyal companions you will not find on this side.
If they are young enough to let you take a doggie brush and brush their teeth - please do it. That way they will get used to it, and it will just be a ritual you do as they get older. If you wait too long, they will fight it and you will have to take them to the vet to have their teeth cleaned.
It wasn’t until the end of my best friend’s life that we realized how poor his teeth had gotten. It may have contributed to his health problems - and I have regretted not addressing this every day for the past year.
I dearly miss my little buddy.

I have to admit labs are the best, but I do love the dackels.

I'm not telling my Redbone Coonhound she's not on the list...she might try to tree the folks who conducted this poll just to put them in a more receptive mood for next year.
(No, I don't run her, she's a companion dog)

I suppose that Goldens’ pre-eminence have been diluted by the current poularity of GoldenPoos and GoldenDoodles. But who cares about shedding? Just decorate your house and choose your upholstery and clothes to match the dog!
