Her wardrobe choices have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. And now Michelle Obama has hit back at the critics who reacted with anger after she chose to wear a British design to a White House formal dinner. In an interview with Good Morning America, the First Lady insisted she will continue to dress in the clothes that make her comfortable - regardless of the label.
She said: 'Look, women, wear what you love. 'That's all I can say. That's my motto. I wear what I like because...I gotta be in the dress, so...'
Michelle dazzled at the dinner in a flame red gown gown by British designer Alexander McQueen but the gesture fell on stony ground in the U.S. The decision, which some argued was taken because of the symbolism of the colour red in China, highlights the scrutiny devoted to the outfits the First Lady wears for state occasions. TV presenter Joan Rivers was the latest fashion figure to attack Michelle, branding her her choice 'badly advised and wrong'.
She told the Huffington Post: 'Wrong. Wrong. Sorry! Sorry, sorry, sorry, but we're pushing America and we're so behind in everything that we're doing.
'We're trying to push our own industries, the president's coming out and saying we've got to make more American stuff, you know what, darling?

That’s actually one of the best dresses I’ve seen her in. Yet, I’m still wondering if a table somewhere hasn’t been left uncovered.
Do you remember the scene in “Gone With The Wind” where Scarlet ripped the drapes off the windows for material to make a dress? Well, this dress reminds me of that scene. Scarlett took the time to transform the drapery into a lovely ensemble.
Apparently, Michelle O’s designer decided to skip over that important step. Or maybe Michelle, unlike Scarlet O’Hara, has some real figure flaws that can’t be hidden any other way than to wrap volumes of material around her.
As far as the Obama’s having any loyalty to the USA or to the people who pay their food bills, well forget it....ain’t gonna happen...ever!

I agree. And I also believe that she picked it out herself.
During the first year, there was some weird social secretary who was a slave to "Fashion" and I think that that weird woman picked out a lot of outfits and gowns to INTENTIONALLY make Michelle look awful, just awful.

I agree. I also agree with her statement that one should wear what she likes. A dress or gown worn at a state function is always gonna aggravate somebody, why in the world I don't know, but it will.
Just goes to show her taste is all in her big mouth.
You can put lipstick on pigs but they are still pigs.
In photographs it does, but in person it probably looks much better, though the strap should be worn normally. What I really care about is who is paying for all of Michelle's very expensive clothes.
