My son, an F.R. member, who I won't further embarrass by pinging him, walked away from this, unscratched and unbruised:

How did he manage to do all that in a parking lot?

I'm on my third stick-shift Camry. It's a 2005. Darn it, if I don't have to change the oil every once in a while!

Are you saying you won’t follow Soetoro’s command to get a golf cart?

I would recommend the Scion Xb. It has the same Camry engine with a lot more room inside. It's also cheaper than a Camry.

I don’t know if I’m ever going to buy a new car again if I can help it. Let someone else take the hit on the depreciation. Even though Toyota’s seem to do better in having less depreciation than most cars.

With all of the reports of recalls, Camry’s are still fine cars. They made them uglier than they used to be.

I have never seen deals on Camry’s that I have seen in the last 6 months. If you have wanted to buy one, there has never been a better time to do so.

My ‘92 Camry has 289,000 miles on it. Runs great. Does not use any oil either. Only major service issue was fixing an a/c leak at 200,000 miles.

I review cars. The Camry is still excellent, but why not also look at the Ford Fusion? Also, the Hyundai Sonata is great (though fugly), the Mazda 6 is also very nice, as is the VW Passat. You certainly can’t go wrong with the Camry, though.

Good luck!
Cheers
Jim

Mrs. F. has a 2001 Camry. About 135,000 miles on it now.

It's been great/reliable. Just standard routine maintenance.

Don’t buy a hybrid Camry. Someone in my immediate family has one, and I’ve driven it. It’s a real dog, and has a strange feel.

Wow. Glad he wasn’t hurt. My dad has a Toyota Avalon and loves it but I prefer my Honda. I have a 1996 Honda Accord I refuse to let go of. Other than gas and the required service checks, I have had to do nothing else. I did have to have it towed once several years ago but Honda covered the price of the tow and the repair due to a defective part even though my warranty expired.
My husband says all women need a ‘Barbie Car’ like my Honda. One that invisibly keeps itself up, much like the toy pink convertible we all had growing up.

My wife has a 2003 Camry {her third one} with over 125,000 miles. She was going to buy a new one but this one has been so trouble free that she can't bring herself to trade it in.

When she does buy a new car, there is no doubt what it will be, the only thing that she'll have to decide on is the color, because it will be a 4 door, 6 cylinder, Toyota Camry XLE same as this one.

I drove Mercedes for 35 years and 4 years ago switched to a Toyota RAV 4, All Wheel Drive and never looked back. Mercedes makes a terrific car. but on a price/performance basis, the Toyota beats it hands down.

I can buy two RAV 4s for the same price as a single Mercedes {I know I don't get the hood ornament} and have cash left over.

I have never owned a Camary. However, I am on my second Tacoma with over 100k miles. I will probably buy a 3rd next year after we pay off my wives Honda Odessey.

I’d say the fact that you son walked away, unscratched and unbruised, is a good enough reason to stick with your prefered brand.

Dude-- Go with the Camry.

I had a POS Chevy Cavalier that kept breaking down and GM basically blew me off. So in 2000, I bought a Camry. I am now on my second one.

I got hit head on by a drunk driver in 2007 in my Corolla, and lived to tell the tale!

My dad's had about 3 Camry's-he loves them!
