Yesterday, we told you about an officer-involved shooting in Phoenix. Details were limited, so we said to check back later. We got the details and they're pretty nuts.
According to court documents obtained by New Times, Phoenix Police Officer Richard Chrisman has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after fatally shooting 29-year-old Daniel Rodriquez.
Rodriquez's mother called police about noon yesterday to report that she and her son had gotten into an argument and that Rodriquez was breaking things in her trailer home near Baseline Road and Central Avenue.
Officer Chrisman and another officer found Rodriquez's mother at the trailer next to the one where Rodriquez had thrown a fit.
The two officers went next door and tried to talk with Rodriquez, but he didn't answer.
The mother told the officers that the trailer was hers and that they were allowed to enter.
The officers entered the trailer and found Rodriquez standing in the living room.
Rodriquez told the cops they had no right to be in his trailer, and that's when things got wild.

Okay, this story is from 4 months ago. Got an update?
Pretty much. I have a Border Collie and damn if any cop will come to my place and shoot her before he talks to me. But then, I’m not the sort that would have a cop come in the first place. It’d be wrong house wrong person.
I’m speculating rage when hearing the words, you have no right to be here, do you have a warrant. I’ve had trouble merely asking “why did you pull me over, officer?”
I have seen some videos warning police about Freestaters and Sovereign Citizens, and the videos usually warn that if the person you are dealing with mentions their constitutional rights, they may be Sovereign Citizens and a threat.

Not only does this story say NOTHING about illegals, despite your bigoted remark (Unless you know intimate details of this story, you are basing your ignorant remark on a last name and a common U.S. last name at that), it’s illogical to infer that he was an illegal given the story. Illegal’s generally don’t call police, compromising themselves, and even less likely over family member breaking things. Many of them are beaten and raped by “coyotes” just to get to the U.S., violating laws all along the way, trying to go UNdetected.
But you stay classy. Someone had to make a feeble and tasteless attempt to justify somehting about this, even if they had to make it up to do so.
No problemo. There will be a rigorous internal investigation and the
occifer will be held accountable.
BTW if you’re near a cop, hide your freakin’ dog. They love using them for
target practice.
“Not only does this story say NOTHING about illegals...”
Unless they media reports the person as being legal, a lot of us simply no longer wait to find out.
“Yeah and reputations get around fast, and the other cop is probably thinking hes not going to take a bullet for some unstable loose cannon. I dont blame him.”
Agreed. And given the recent events of last month in Arizona, I’m sure public officials, LEOs or not, would prefer not to incite further violence by killing unarmed people and shooting their dogs. I could be wrong, but I’m thinking fewer and fewer people want to be held responsible, or have their names published (especially for something like this) in this day and age, and with good reason. It’s a tactic employed relentlessly by the left to isolate “targets.” And they (the left) are calling for violence already.
As do I; I suspect the bad cop was quite surprised that his partner ratted him out.
We need more good cops willing to expose their corrupt “brothers”.
There’s one good cop in the story. The one who gave statements as to what actually happened which will convict the other officer of at least manslaughter.
He’s being charge with assault, not manslaughter. As someone pointed out (which I missed on the first pass) this story is from October, maybe we’ll get an update.
See my tagline, but your post was crude and senseless.
You are stating an assumption as a fact. You are entitled to your opinion, but there is no evidence that the man shot committed any crime.
Why would any person in the US illegally call the police for anything?
I don’t trust this story. It’s written by the worlds most liberal paper, the Phoenix New Times.
I don’t read tag lines.
“You are stating an assumption as a fact. You are entitled to your opinion, but there is no evidence that the man shot committed any crime.”
What the heck, if the left can do it, so can I (once in a while).
“Why would any person in the US illegally call the police for anything?”
Because some stupid court has invalidated SB 1170.
Immerito, thanks for the update.
Lancey, here’s some more on the story.
I found this to be even more unbelievable:
“He [the councilmen suspected of influencing the case] said he typically contacts police officers and employees involved in accidents to let them know “my thoughts and prayers are with them.” City officials have encouraged him to write cards or send letters, instead.
“It’s kind of sad,” Nowakowski said.
“It’s part of being an elected official to be able to call a City of Phoenix employee and let them know that the leadership is there for them.”

To reach out to officers “involved” in “ACCIDENTS.” Unbelievable. “[Alleged?] Murderers trying to get off” is a more apt description.
I try to keep tabs on my Dachshund barkers. The yard is fenced; however, it seems that cops don’t care if they are on a patrol. Apparently, it is not our private property anymore.
