The Vatican seems ready, for which I give them a ton of credit.

I agree. They've been in on the story for as long as our government, IMHO. It's the Muzzies who will be interesting to watch, in terms of a reaction.

It'll be the opening sequence of 2001 - A Space Odyssey

“What was Armstrong’s military rank when he commanded Apollo 11?”

American Hero, First Class.

Those apes were way smarter than today's muzzie snakes.

Brig General Jimmy Stewart, USAFR. He wasn’t half-bad as an actor, either .

My uncle was in SAC, a navigator on a tanker if I recall. What I do remember is that they were stationed in Minot, ND, and they had to plug in their car in winter or the engine oil congealed.

It's hard to remember just how primitive the electronics back then were compared to today.

Electronics? I see no electronics here. Only Keuffel & Esser.

Of course, on board Apollo, they did have electronics. 4mhz, 72k RAM.

No cheating here. If he had some kind of “Reserve Admiral” BS status, I’m unaware of it. I’d always read he touched down on the moon as a civilian.

I was right out of college, living in Houston apt. with a lot of NASA people...

There was an old BBQ joint across the street from the entrance to Ellington Field. All of the astronauts ate there at one time or another.

Can't remember the name of it and don't know if it's still there or not.

“It’s hard to remember just how primitive the electronics back then were compared to today. “

Does anyone have any specs of the onboard computer in first apollo command ship?

I’ve often heard a rumor that the old XT clones with a 20 meg HD were larger storage and more powerful.
