Walker Should Bring Criminal Charges Against Teachers
My Diseased Brain ^ | February 17, 2011 | Vanity

Posted on 02/17/2011 1:21:39 PM PST by Lonesome in Massachussets

Since Wisconsin teachers called in "sick" and later appeared at political rallies at the statehouse and appeared on TV, haven't they violated criminal statutes and shouldn't the governor have criminal charges brought against them, and have them fired. Forthwith?

Isn't it against the law for a civil servant to make a false health claim and absent ones self from one's place of work? Criminal malingering.

How about those so called “public servants” using state property, a school bus, to make their get away?

Fire them all, thieves and punks, the lot of them.

My employer has a happy and well earned reputation for siccing private investigators on people who make shady disability and workman’s comp claims.

Well, what about the DEMOCRAT State Senators who abandoned their positions?

I’d like to see penalties such as $1,000 per day per legislator up to removal from office for more than about 3 days of this bullcrap.

Fire each person that called in sick. Put out an advertisement to universities asking for recent grads or those graduating in May, willing to teach. By next Sept they will have a whole bunch of new teachers, excited, young, motivated, and cheap.
Then other state Governors should invite the head of the teachers union to join him for a press conference, point to Wisconsin, and request they too go on strike.

I hope Walker stands his ground, but no GOP politician today has the guts like Reagan had to fire the Union thugs.

Since Wisconsin teachers called in "sick"

and yet they still get paid. Anyone know how many sick days/yr these so-called "teachers" receive?

According to a coworker, whose ex-wife is a teacher, they’re calling in to take a day of unpaid leave, which gets around that issue.

I don’t know what Scott may do. He is a very principled man. He gave himself a pay cut when he became County Exec.

I worked on the Dole campaign in ‘96. Scott gave his office to the Dole campaign for the duration. The people who volunteered there were Scott’s volunteers. They came in faithfully to stuff envelopes and deliver yard signs. And they loved Scott Walker, whom they had elected to the WI State Assembly when he was 27 years old.

Criminal charges, probably not. But they’ve certainly opened themselves up for administrative punishment up to and including dismissal. Sadly, I doubt any school administrators will have the stones to fire the teachers, because they are part of the problem as well (most of them making $100k+ and having even more massive benefits). And school boards will more than likely also not do their job here.

While it’s a nice thought for Governor Walker to go Ronaldus Magnus Maximus and PATCO the teachers into the unemployment line, I doubt it’s going to happen. I’m not sure he even has the authority to do it.

It may not be criminal but it is certainly actionable. If enough taxpayers demand that these malingerers get fired, they will be. It’s ridiculous to think that taxpayers have to support the very people who are defying their wishes. THEY work for US, not vice versa.

A student who said they were sick and then it was found out that that day was a Senior Skip Day would potentially be in a position to be suspended or not allowed to graduate.

"Walker Should Bring Criminal Charges Against Teachers"

Walker could do several things. He could, (if he has their photos at the rally), fire them for openly and recklessly abusing school policy, LYING to the school authorities, setting a very bad example for the students, and abusing the public trust who pay the teachers' salaries. -- Or he could demand they get a doctor's note declaring they were examined that day, or the day before, and their 'sickness' needs to be clearly described by the physician. -- Stand strong Mr. Walker, stand strong.
