Who?

Exactly! The young man drove the best race today, and completely deserved the win in this crash-filled classic.

Why can't baseball and football players have massive advertisements on their uniforms? Doesn't seem fair.

...and Roush has only one in the Top 3.

Who would have predicted that? 3 Fords in Top 3, and only one is a Rousch car.

One of the best Daytona 500s I've seen in my lifetime. Wood Brothers for the win! Plus, Bayne, thanked God first and foremost.

It’s a really neat story, and I’m a lukewarm Nascar viewer.

Looks like it will be milk instead of beer in victory lane!

Too bad Newman in the 39 didn't win, though, and stick it to Betty McCollum.

Can anyone explain why these new cars only run in pairs and not a main draft.

The new surface has no bumps, and pushing one car with another behind was the fastest way around the track.

I didn’t like it early last week, but the 500 was just a very fun race to watch because of the difficulty of racing in pairs.

Being a Rolex sporty car guy, who is and what is the significance of Betty McCollum?

Because of the way they run in pairs with the second car in full contact with the first, any others would get absolutely no air and with one car in the middle, the middle car would be eventually spun out because of no air on the front or rear taking anyone else behind him out as well. The major factor is the splitter on the front of the car that could catch whatever air was coming under the first. With each additional car stacked in that chain the resulting availability of air to keep the front planted was even further diminsihed. Add to it all the lip spoiler that replaced the wing. All of these changes combined with the new super smooth surface resulted in what you saw. And I mean it was super smooth.

Too many yellows.

Too many wrecked cars.

Not much racing.

Trevor and Woods Bros. deserved it.

So called “experienced” drivers need to watch the tape of the race and take notes from Trevors drive.

Nascar has ruined this type of racing.

Rep. Betty McCollum is the RAT who filed the bill to remove funding of the military's sponsorship of NASCAR teams. Fortunately the House voted down her bill.

I say fortunately because I think recruiting needs advertising, especially when a new recruit is likely to see combat within a year of enlistment. Not only is there the visual of the sponsored cars going around the track but there is the associated merchandise, the presence of soldiers at the track (always make it a point to stop and say hello and thank you), and the strong correlation of patriotism and the typical NASCAR fan. And hey, newman and the 39 car are pretty competitive!

I think God arranges things like that occasionally just to remind us He’s still around and still in control.
