Genghis Kahn's Unintended Green Legacy
Mother Nature Network ^ | 1/24/2011 | Bryan Nelson

Genghis Khan's Mongol invasion in the 13th and 14th centuries was so vast that it may have been the first instance in history of a single culture causing man-made climate change, according to new research out of the Carnegie Institution's Department of Global Ecology, reports Mongabay.com. Unlike modern day climate change, however, the Mongol invasion cooled the planet, effectively scrubbing around 700 million tons of carbon from the atmosphere.

So how did Genghis Khan, one of history's cruelest conquerors, earn such a glowing environmental report card? The reality may be a bit difficult for today's environmentalists to stomach, but Khan did it the same way he built his empire — with a high body count ...

NO it isn't, that is exactly what they want, everyone who isn't a rich white liberal, should just die, so the rich white liberals can have the planet to themselves.

I’ll bet we won’t see any stories about Christopher Columbus’ “green legacy”.

Hitler was good this way. And Stalin. And Mao. They helped green the earth by killing about a hundred million people. Sniff. The world just doesn't make heroes like that anymore. Al Gore tries, but he just doesn't have the real commitment that Hitler had.

Absolutely not because Columbus instigated the western natural resource thievery of North and South America.

So let them drink the kool-aid , literally, and then we’ll see. We’ll definitely bury them in a green way

I am also getting the suspicion that they may try to use Genghis Khan to explain the Little Ice Age? This was my first thought when I read the article.

Death Disease Pestilence and War. Solving global warming one disaster at a time. And since they ride horses they are totally carbon neutral.

Yeah, European diseases wiping out indigenous North and South American populations was a good thing by the article’s logic.

So the lesson here for the eco-conscious is; truly caring stewards of the planet like to drive their enemies before them and hear the lamentations of their women.

This environmental “theory” gave me a good laugh. Mongolian empire climate change! They didn’t even need factories or cars.

“Little Ice Age?”

~1250- ~1850. Khan died in 1227.

It takes a few hundred years for the forests to grow proper and have their desired effect.

Also, the Mongolian Empire’s lasted in Russia until almost 1500, and Moscow did not fully recover until the early 1600’s. I would not put it past some greens to argue this. They have certainly managed to politicize the weather, and once you are able to do that, you can do or say almost anything.

Yes, I have heard that there are more trees today. Deer, however, love farms. There are far more deer today in America than ever before because of all the farms. This keeps them well fed.

Let’s not forget the complete lack of predators too. Wolves, bears and cougars used to roam over a much broader territory than they do today. The influence that they would have had on deer populations would have been significant.

According to this website: http://www.ardeerhunting.com/tidbits.htm American hunters kill SIX times more deer annually than EXISTED in 1900.

Another thing that has caused an overpopulation of deer in the south at least is the eradication of the screw worm fly. This fly attacked deer and cattle new born by laying egg in the navel. We would never get away with a screwworm holocaust to wipe a species out from the face of the earth.
Result overpopulation of deer.
Perhape the Native grass lands absorbed more CO2 than the wheat, corn and beans, but I don't think so. These envir-wackos think the old way are always the best, but if we farmed like the pioneers did, we would kill more people than Gingis Khan
