Dolphins save Doberman Pinscher stranded on sandbar
My Fox Orlando ^ | 3/2/2011 | Newscore

A Pennsylvania woman on vacation in Florida took a tip from two dolphins to save a lost Doberman Pinscher that got stranded on a sandbar.

When Audrey D'Alessandro and her husband, Sam, walked out of their home on Marco Island, near Naples, Fla., to go fishing, "we saw these two dolphins, and they were splashing and making this big commotion" in a canal behind their vacation home, she said.

Although it is not uncommon to see dolphins swimming through the canal on their way to the Gulf of Mexico, Audrey D'Alessandro said that this time, "they were just there, in one place, splashing water against the canal wall."

I’m sure the sharks don’t think it was good news.

Great story about intelligent dolphins communicating with humans in order to save a dog.............

Now, if they were only smart enough to stay away from fishing boats and their nets......

Dolphins are people too.
Most humans don't want to admit that.

I was bitten by a Doberman once. Not the dog’s fault, nor mine, just some idiot buddy of my grandparents insisting the dog was friendly and needed a strange little kid to pet it. The dog didn’t care for the idea, neither did I, and we both tried to communicate that to the supposed grownup. So I got my hand munched. I’m sure the dog could’ve done worse if he’d wanted to, but it was the only way left to him to express his misgivings at a foolish human grabbing my hand and putting it on his head.
Dobies are great dogs, ferocious when they ought to be, loyal, and they try their best to be reasonable in an often irrational human dominion.

No. Dolphins are not kangaroos. They don’t have pouches.

Dolphins are people too. Most humans don't want to admit that.

If they don't contribute to society, if they don't pay taxes, if they don't have a right to vote, if they don't shop at WalMart, and most importantly, if they haven't figured out a way to avoid fishing nets then they ain't no member of the life form that I'm a proud member of.....

I don’t think it was the sharks that the dog needed to fear..... he was darn lucky that an alligator didn’t show up!
