BTW, those numbers are exactly the numbers I found in a November, 2007 publication. So it could be that these are rather old numbers.

Also, these are not all “freebie money”. It includes money the government spends for services. For example, I believe if there is a military base in Alaska, the cost of running that base would be considered part of the “tax allotment”.

How funny that they would use old information.....lol. Scoundles. Also why would they not put in about the bases? I mean you are right that they are expensive. I guess it must be that the author of the story wanted those states to look bad.
