One by one, conservatives are expressing their displeasure in the way Speaker of the House John Boehner is leading the new Republican majority in the House of Representatives. Conservative talker Mark Levin has expressed his frustration on a nightly basis in recent weeks.

"The America of my time line is a laboratory example of what can happen to democracies, what has eventually happened to all perfect democracies throughout all histories. A perfect democracy, a warm body democracy in which every adult may vote and all votes count equally, has no internal feedback for self-correction. It depends solely on the wisdom and self-restraint of citizens which is opposed by the folly and lack of self-restraint of other citizens. What is supposed to happen in a democracy is that each sovereign citizen will always vote in the public interest for the safety and welfare of all. But what does happen is that he votes his own self-interest as he sees it which for the majority translates as Bread and Circuses.
Bread and Circuses is the cancer of democracy, the fatal disease for which there is no cure. Democracy often works beautifully at first. But once a state extends the franchise to every warm body, be he producer or parasite, that day marks the beginning of the end of the state. For when the plebs discover that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the body politic cannot stop them, they will do so, until the state bleeds to death, or in its weakened condition the state succumbs to an invaderthe barbarians enter Rome." Robert A. Heinlein
The elections are coming fast. We need to build on the midterms as far as extinquishing every ‘rat and RINO crybaby collectivist from ever holding public office again...including the office dogcatcher.
Spineless "bipartisanship" (which is code for "let the Democrats have their way") is why we loathe the diseased husk of the Republican Party. The Republicans are NOT conservatives, but they play one on TV every 2, 4, or 6 years just long enough to get elected and then screw us again.
We don't have alot of options at this point, but I would truly love to see a Conservative 3rd party totally derail every effete beltway GOP fatcat.
We get nimrods like Boner in positions of leadership the same way we got Dole as a candidate - the “it’s his turn” phenomenon. As long as this continues the GOP is doomed to fail, because all we get are washed-up hack pols to run the show.
Donating money to the GOP under these circumstances is throwing it into the toilet and flushing. As far as I am concerned they are cut off. No money for nimrods and party hacks. Period.
I wanted Mike Pence to be the next Speaker! “Elitist Republicanism”, “Establishment Republicanism”, and “RINO Republicanism” are full of problems for the, still, much needed advancement of U.S. conservatism.
Either the goat or Lindsey Graham!
No, I dont. I dont, to be honest. I think John Boehner has been an incredible disappointment. I think John Boehner has basically climbed into the Bob Dole suit, and I think they misunderstand the lessons of the 2010 election, which is that the Tea Party chose to work within the diseased husk of the Republican Party it loathes. And it still hasnt forgiven for 2006 and 2008. So for the Republicans to demonstrate that hey, were back to 2006 again, except on Obama-level spending, is not a good idea. We need Republicans to at least take the lead in broadening public discourse. This country is broke. Its the brokest country in the history of the planet. And the idea of arguing over itsy-bitsy, half a billion here and half a billion there, and continuing resolutions staggering forward every ten days, is preposterous. Its inadequate to the task. Its inadequate for the challenge facing America.
Very good, from the Hugh Hewitt Show.
I found it here
I see any elected Republican that disses the TEA party as a Bob Dole clone and part of the “old guard” that must be removed.
First post nails it.
Boner is like so many other RINOs; he talks a great game in the locker room, but folds up under even the lightest pressure once he takes the field.
We can afford to have a few spineless politicians when our country is not perched at the edge of the abyss; however, we are at a pivotal point in American history, and Boehner’s just another politician at a time when this nation needs leaders.
You’ve been defending him because he sounded very solid initially. Now...there’s reports about him calling the tea party people crazy and he is leading the CR push each time they pass it which we all know is entrenching Obamadeathcare even further.
Boehner is turning into a RINO on steroids
Just lilstened to Sarah’s speech and Q/A afterwards and she said one thing that fits right with this thread. When questioned about her place in the GOP, she made the comment, and I paraphrase, there are too many leaders in the Republican Party who live by the fighting insticts of sheep.
The problem is an incredible lack of courage...nothing to do with intelligence.....the GOP is being led by eunuchs.
This didn’t start with Boehner. During the lame duck session, when all the R’s had to do was wait it out, the dems were able to do a scorched-earth campaign.
I do believe there are threats. But I don’t believe they began or end with Boehner. Soros has something he is holding over the heads of both the blue-dog democrats who have been falling on their swords in an unprecedented way for the past 2 years AND over the heads of even people who have proven their conservative mettle over the years, which can be seen most clearly by the way they allowed the scorched-earth congress even when there was no political price to be paid for resisting at that point. The next election is 2 years away, and for most of them even farther than that. It was not politics that got them to give in. There is something more going on.
The more I see, the more I think Soros has this nation hostage under the threat of another run on the bank like the one that he and his Islamist allies orchestrated in September of 2008 to overcome Palin’s effect on the polls and get Obama elected.
As long as Obama is in office nothing serious will be done to get rid of our financial vulnerability. It is our financial vulnerability that keeps the judges and media quiet about Obama’s eligibility and keeps Congress from doing anything to fix the mess. It’s a vicious circle Soros has us in. He’s shown the leaders that he has the power to break our economy. He says if we don’t let Obama stay in power he will pull the trigger. If we leave Obama in power he will kill America’s infrastructure and make sure that Soros keeps his power to break our economy.
We are in a huge, huge mess. The republicans had the biggest landslide in this country’s history, and for the 2 months of lame-duck Congress after that landslide R’s gave away everything including the kitchen sink. We are not dealing with normal electoral politics. That should be clear to everybody.
Turning into?
The first time I saw this gutless wonder on the blabber box, I groaned and saw visions of Trent V* Lott returning to lead the Senate!
(*) V stands for Vacant.
You may get Pence in the form of VP for Perry, if Rick decides his chances are worth it.
They are conservative.....cowardly conservatives. Gutless conservativism gets you nowhere.
He’s crazy if he’s dissing the Tea Party. Even an idiot could see that he would not be speaker if it weren’t for the tea party.
What is it in that air in DC?
Was the issue ever in doubt? Boehner sat on The National Right to Work Act for years. Bottled it up in Committee. “Conservative?”
