Been using Foxfire for a couple of years now. I guess it’s okay. Not being a saavy computer person, I can’t really tell any difference in it from Explorer.

Actually, all of mine were working from the get-go this time. The only issue I saw was one didn’t consistently allow the statusbar icon for it to be moved til after it updated.

"Of course Obama loves his country...it's just that Sarah Palin loves mine!"

Love your tagline. It's one of the better ones I've seen on the forum.

Just loaded FF 4 on wifey’s computer today. I became aware of it, when I clicked on an update for FF 3.6. Haven’t yet installed it on my own computer, because I’m not sure if anything I have right now will bug up, like add-ons.

One of the first things I noticed that irked me, was the disappearance of the ‘stop loading’ button. I checked View > Toolbars > Customize to see if it was there, and it isn’t.

Think I’m going to read for a few days before installing FF 4.

re the stop loading button. If you go to customize there is an icon that says “sync”, drag & drop it right at the end of the address bar and then it will be at the end of the address bar (with the reload/stop icon thingy) I almost had a hear t attack before I figured it out. ;)

I had the same problem, of google search links taking me to url’s different from what I expected or wanted.

Another Freeper, so_real, described an “Add-on” called “xulrunner” as a likely source of the problem. I found that I had that add-on installed; I disabled it and the Google redirect virus disappeared.

My thanks to you for describing the problem and to fellow freeper so_real for solving an irritating problem.

I can recommend an alternative browser named Wyzo (free at wyzo.com). I often use Firefox and Wyzo concurrently recently, as Firefox 3.6.16 has become such a memory hog and also running slow.

A friend switched over to Firefox 4, and notes that the TabsManager add-on is no longer necessary, as this functionality (which I love) is now a part of FF4.

That’s what I need.
I bought some stuff on Amazon and now they have my number.

If I browse items I get ads/ emails pertaining to those and related goods.

Just got a ‘heads up’ e-mail from Consumers Report about Zombie Cookies able to track your surfing and next to impossible to erase.

In the end, I actually prefer Google Chrome 10.0.648.204 (the current released version) because not only it is really fast (thanks to the Webkit page layout engine), Chrome probably has the most compatibility with HTML 5.0 and best of all, each tab runs in its own separate process, so if one tab crashes it won't take down the whole browser with it. That's why my default browser on my home computer is Chrome.
