Does any FReeper live where he/she can buy SunCrest orange soda?

Once upon a time, back in the days of my childhood, there was an orange soda (or as we called it, an "orange Co-Cola") called SunCrest. NB: this is SunCrest, not to be confused with Sunkist orange soda, which was only introduced in the late Seventies). I vividly remember drinking buying bottles of this out of the Coke machine at the local laundromat when my family was washing.

SunCrest was created and originally marketed (1938) by the NuGrape people. But in 1982 it was bought by the Monarch company of Atlanta, GA and it became very scarce, as Sunkist pretty much moved in and took its place. In 2007 the Dad's Root Beer company bought it from Monarch and, as I understand it, it is now sold only in Indiana (though a few nostalgia and specialty businesses still sell it in its vintage bottle).

A couple years ago I actually e-mailed the Dad's company and asked local businesses to begin stocking SunCrest again, but apparently the Dad's Root Beer people are simply not interested in marketing this classic vintage drink any more.

Does anyone else on FR remember SunCrest? Are there any FReepers fortunate enough to live where it can still be purchased today?

"I want my childhood back, therefore I want SunCrest and nothing else will do!"

How about a Fanta instead?

Well, thanks for finding a place where it can be bought online, but I’m trying to find out where it is actually marketed and sold regularly.

Go to this site for a list where it is sold.

Sorry, but that applies only to Dad's Root Beer itself. They market Dad's nationally, but they refuse to expand SunCrest.

Thanks for the link, but I’m trying to determine where SunCrest is still sold and marketed regularly.

I love Sunkist Orange. I can't find it here in AR, so I've ordered it in the past from here. They also sell all of the other ancient soda's I loved as a child.

I love Sunkist Orange.

I can purchase Sunkist soda any day of the week. My inquiry is about SunCrest, which is no longer nationally available.

Oh yes...the Faygo Kid!

Laura Scudder's Potato Chips went so well with that!

Thanks, but that won't tell me where SunCrest is regularly and conventionally marketed.

Cracker Barrel is a specialty store, and their having it doesn't mean it is available generally in that region. For example, NuGrape has a national deal with Cracker Barrel even though it is no longer marketed nationally.

I haven’t had SunCrest in years! I actually have an old bottle from probably the 50’s that I found while quail hunting with my Dad.

Great stuff!

My grandmother says she remembers an odd chocolate soda that didn’t taste all that great.
Anyone remember this?
