What? Brett Favre May Return With Carolina?
Total Packers ^ | March 27, 2011

Quarterback Brett Favre may return to the NFL for the 2011 season, according to Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, but not with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings seem intent on choosing a quarterback in this year’s draft and possibly adding a veteran like the Washington Redskins Donovan McNabb as a bridge until he’s ready.

If it happens, it wouldn’t come as a surprise. We’ve all seen this movie before.

There are, however, a couple interesting angles here.

Favre was quick to file his retirement papers with the league after the 2010 season, something he didn’t do the previous year. For all intents and purposes, the move, along with Favre’s continued refrain that 2010 would be his last season, was a clear sign he was finally hanging it up for good.

Why the Carolina Panthers would be able to lure him out of retirement is a mystery.

Walters didn’t provide much information on Favre’s future, other than to say another unretirement is a possibility.

Oh God no.

I doubt the Panthers are this stupid. Ask Brad Childress how well it worked out for him.

This act is getting really tiresome. What a drama queen. Did he cry again the last time he quit?

I wonder if this year is being “donated” to his wife ... if you know what I mean.

We may come to find out that Favre is the first retarded person to ever play in the NFL.

Terry Bradshaw had everybody guessing for a long time, but it turns out that he's a genius.

The sad thing is with the Packers winning the Superbowl, this would be a good time to make peace with Ted Thompson and rebuild his relationship with Packers fans.

He needs something to do after football. He doesn’t have anything except football and it clearly scares him.

The streak is over and he’s been pretty badly hurt. He won’t have much of a life if he doesn’t take some time to recover.

I dunno. It doesn’t look like his injuries are easily healed. Won’t be long before he walks with a limp.

He’s pissed because someone else took over his spot at GB that is way better than he was and is getting all that attention.

This guy has a real mental problem.

It is time then, to recycle Vinnie Testaverde, Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Doug Flutie, and possibly Roger Staubach?

I doubt the Panthers are this stupid.

Well, they spent a first-rounder on that Clausen kid, so maybe they are. Andrew Luck deciding to stay in school was the worst news the Panthers have had in a while and the best news Clausen has ever had.

I can’t decide who I’m sickest of; Bret Farve or John McCain. They both need to go home and stay there.

If he comes back, he needs a crippling injury. It’s obviously the only way he’ll learn. (And I have never, ever wished harm on any athlete but this drama queen’s act is getting really old)

He’s already crippled, he just doesn’t know it yet. I’m about five years older than Favre and he doesn’t know what he’s in for.

There is a huge and rapid drop off when you hit 40. He’ll end up like Muhammad Ali if he isn’t careful.
