And Blanda could kick field goals, the old fashioned way, straight ahead.
Favre has hundreds of millions of dollars and loves hunting.
He could pitch an idea for a show to the Outdoor Channel and they'd jump right into his arms for a big man love hug.
Next season: "BRETT FAVRE'S WILDERNESS ADVENTURES -- SUNDAY AFTERNOONS ON OUTDOOR CHANNEL!"
... and he'd probably make as much money as he ever did on football from the merchandise licensing.
The hell is wrong with this guy, anyway?
I just wished McCarthy would have benched him the moment Rodgers took over for Favre in that one regular season Dallas game (when both teams were 10-1). Aaron Rodgers almost won the game for them and he would have been the starter right then and there.
No way he is coming back, the NFL is going to start testing for HGH.
He did wrong to his wife and family. As for football, I’d like to see him play another year. Even at his age, he is still one of the top 15 QB’s playing (or was) in the NFL.
I doesn’t say he’ll play a position, maybe as a coach?
He played in his last game at Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Stadium on January 4, 1976, at age 48, in the 1975 AFC Championship Game, where he kicked a 41-yard field goal and made one extra point as the Raiders lost to the Steelers 16-10.
I played golf with Blanda, the man was a great athlete.
He was not a starting quarterback in his final years, but was an excellent kicker and a reasonable backup quarterback.
“...He doesnt have anything except football and it clearly scares him....”
I’ve been saying that for two years. He simply doesn’t have a post-NFL plan. All he knows is football. Take that away from him and he’s nothing.
But look at it thie way. Since the NFL won’t be playing in 2011, he’ll have an entire year off to get used to life without The Game. Could be the best thing for Brett. Forced inaction. That, plus getting a year older should just about insure he won’t even attempt a comeback in 2012.
Even after his Academy Award winning performance in "There's Something About Mary"?
Clausen was the 48th player taken in the draft.
