Benjamin Radford, author of several books on monsters and paranormal phenomena, managing editor of the journal The Skeptical Inquirer and LiveScience columnist, has released what he says to be definitive proof that El Chupacabra is not real; it's not even a hoax, he said, but rather a leftover memory of a science-fiction film.

I don’t know about Chupacabra but I’m willing to bet all the Bigfoot sightings can be attributed to Michelle O on her many vacations.
There are no more Chupacabra sightings once a Free Range Chicken is introduced into the area.
Much older than that...I’ve been in South Central TX for 40 years and those stories go back into my childhood.
B.S. I known of a couple of fellow showmen that displayed “Chupacabras” in Puerto Rico back in the 80’s. The fear of the animal was widespread back then. I have had patrons of my museum tell me of their encounters with chupacabras, which were quite horrific. Legend or real? Well, I have one and when on display, invokes a certain horror and fear in people.
The 1995 reports became known outside Puerto Rico, but the supposed critter was around by name before that. Phony explanations for cryptids, UFOs, etc etc get saddled on immediately as the one the only truth by the skepticultists. The existence of an unknown animal shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone; anything with unnatural or supernatural abilities is probably (heh) an observational error in the case of cryptids.
