HENRY COUNTY, Tenn -- The director of the 24th Judicial District Drug Task Force has been suspended pending an investigation into missing drug money, the Channel 4 I-Team has confirmed.
District Attorney General Hansel McAdams told the Channel 4 I-Team he requested in early 2010 that the TennesseeBureau of Investigation investigate the task force. McAdams said the Tennessee Comptroller's Office is also conducting an audit of the task force.
McAdams said he called in the TBI when an estimated $4200 went missing from a drug seizure, and the drug task force has no paperwork or records of the money ever being seized.
"There needs to be accountability for that money, and that's what they're (the TBI) looking into," said McAdams.
TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm said at first, nothing was found, but the investigation intensified in February.

Only $4200? ,, sounds like it was probably small bills ,, the DEA usually pockets bills smaller than a $20 for their donut fund .. those bills never get counted or reported.
