Libyan rebels sold Hizballah and Hamas chemical shells

Senior Libyan rebel “officers” sold Hizballah and Hamas thousands of chemical shells from the stocks of mustard and nerve gas that fell into rebel hands when they overran Muammar Qaddafi’s military facilities in and around Benghazi, debkafile’s exclusive military and intelligence sources report.

Tehran threw its support behind the anti-Qaddafi rebels because of this unique opportunity to get hold of the Libyan ruler’s stock of poison gas after it fell into opposition hands and arm Hizballah and Hamas with unconventional weapons without Iran being implicated in the transaction.

The first authoritative American source to refer to a Hizballah presence in Benghazi was the commander of US NATO forces Adm. James Stavridis. When he addressed a US Senate committee on Tuesday, March 29, he spoke of “telltale signs of the presence of Islamic insurgents led by Al-Qaeda and Hizballah” on the rebel side of the Libyan war. He did not disclose what they were doing there.

Now we know why Obama turned a blind-eye to the events in the middle east and went out to play golf instead. He was buying time for Iran while they picked-up chemical weapons at a discount for their Islamic puppets: Hamas and Hizbollah.

Does this knucklehead in the White House have ANY clue at all? Worse yet, what sinister scheme is plotting against Israel?

Hizballah and Hamas (has acquired) thousands of chemical shells from the stocks of mustard and nerve gas.

Does Hizballah and Hamas really want to be known for gassing the Jews?

As it stood, neither Eygpt nor Libya posed a threat to either the United States or Israel. What happened in Egypt changed that, at least as far as it concerns Israel and eventually the United States as the muslim brotherhood consolidates its control over the Country. With Gadiffi, they misread their hand a little. He was stronger than they thought. And it appears now that he will hold on to power.

The no-fly zone al quida's supporters on this forun so rabidly cheered for? It is intended for use against Israel. Gadiffi was merely the guina pig to work out the bugs on.

These "freedom loving freedom fighters" in Libya, that are so rabidly cheered on by certain members of this forum will infiltertrate back into Afganistan and resume killing the members of our Armed Forces where they left off.

“It is intended for use against Israel. Gadiffi was merely the guina pig to work out the bugs on.”

This is a pretty major claim - may I ask whether you have anything to back it up?

This is an unmitigated disaster. It’s only a matter of time before they launch a chemical attack on Israel, and then all hell will break loose.

I said from the beginning, while MANY others at this forum were demanding Obama get on the support-the-rebels bandwagon, that before we gave any support to the “rebels” we needed to be sure we were not buying a “pig in poke” (An offering or deal that is foolishly accepted without being examined first. http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/a-pig-in-a-poke.html )

Of course many here were so willing to portray Obama as simply weak for not being first to support the “rebels”. Now some of the same people here want to blame Obama for supporting the rebels as if he is doing that because the rebels are working with terrorists.

My own sense is that Obama did not care just who the Libyan “rebels” were, as much as he simply did not want to get into another Middle East military venture. His early reticence, no matter his reasoning, may have been a better course, as now we are in a venture largely hoped for most by Europeans and supported by some in the Arab league, and all out of their own collective self-interest; not ours.

These revelations should be given a huge public uplift by Conservatives and with the goal of pressuring Obama to demand that the Europeans do their own dirty work, outside of NATO and without us.

Ghaddafi should NEVER have been given polite company with the U.S., even in 2003. After the invasion of Iraq, when Ghaddi said he wanted to talk, our offer should have been nothing more than our agreement to NOT go and destroy the WMD materials he had that he wanted to turn over to us - end of offer.

It’s sikening now to listen to British and other European diplomats denounce what a thugish tyrant Ghaddafi is, while the Brits and B.P oil made a deal to send Ghaddadi’s bomber home and everyone sat silent as Libya, under Ghaddafi was elevated to the head of the table on the U.N. human rights council.

They’re all sickening hypcrites. Ghaddafi was always the monster they are now willing to admit. That’s a fact. Ghaddafi ruled by the psychological terror of what WOULD happen if people protested. The fact that he can now demonstrate that does not mean he was a nice guy before and just now became the monster. The entire diplomatic corps across all of “the west” should be denounced for their decades of hypocrisy and fired en mass.

Who is going to remind everyone of the military equipment deals Obama was ready to sign with Libya before the current events.

Obama too has no moral standing on this issue. He had no principles concerning Ghaddafi before he knew there was a rebel movement, and now he just wanted to be popular with our “allies”, joining a venture in support of a “pig in a poke”.

IDK whether this report is true, but to answer your question, heck yes. They'd take it as a badge of honor and wear it proudly.

This is what one calls "an extrapolation from the data." We do that a lot around here. It is simply a form of opining on how to make the most sense of the data at hand. Is he right? We'll see.

This story needs to be verified by other sources. Thanks. However, if there is no other news source willing to report on such events - and this is often the case - because it serves to further illustrate the utter incompetence Obama, then what's a guy to do? I've been reading DEBKA for some time now and I have no knowledge of falsified reporting. Some of their information is supplied by sources on the ground, and events are often dynamic, where things can change fast.
