Driving Atheist Parents Crazy (vanity)

Posted on 04/02/2011 6:10:44 PM PDT by MacMattico

My daughter, who I will admit I often brag about on here, was in Jr. High All-county band this afternoon. The group was fantastic!

But that's not the best part. I got to see a couple of ultra liberal, atheist, elitist parents heads explode! The thing is it must have been all an act, because the kids are given the music in advance so that they can practice in their home district. They knew exactly what their kids would be singing.

They performed five songs, three of which were: The Heavens are Telling by Franz Joseph Haydn; Confitemini Domino by Greg Gilpin; and Witness arranged by Roger Emerson. They also performed a traditional brazillian folk song (awesome and in Potugese) and a version of Peter Piper that I have no idea how they kept up with each other, as the song was performed in a round and got faster and faster-- really good!

Anyway, this couple a few rows in front of us freaks out as this is religion in the public schools! But you could tell, they were really in a conundrum. The guest conductor was Brazillian, a Professor, wouldn't speaking up make them racist?! So they complained to other parents. Mostly they were told that this wasn't the time or place to make a scene, and they finally shut up when one parent, who is Jewish, told them " This is beautiful, complicated to sing music and that's what all-county is all about. The kids sang in Latin, Potuguese, and songs in this day and age many of them have never heard of. Get over yourselves."

Well, those parents vowed to "write a letter" and "speak with someone". So that is what the rest of us are going to do, and express how beautiful the concert was and how wonderful the music choice was!

A few years back, the local elementary school signed (no words sung) “Away In a Manger” for the “Winter Concert.” It was beautiful and so sad to know the words were prohibited. Liberals are so narrow minded and bigoted.

Any government powerful enough to force religious expression on atheists is powerful enough to force atheism on those who are believers.

( Atheism is winning the government school tug of war over worldview...by the way.)

Solution: SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS!

Since the atheists now have a completely godless curriculum in ALL the government schools **THAT** would make the atheists’ heads explode! They would then have to pay for the religious indoctrination of their **own** children into their religion of atheism. And...They couldn't extract money from the taxpayers any more or impose their godless worldview on other people's children.

Solution:
Conservatives, if they are serious about saving this nation, should work diligently to see that every child in this nation has access to a PRIVATE and CONSERVATIVE school that thoroughly integrates the child's specific Judeo Christian belief and our nation's founding principles into every minute of their education day.

Solution:
Complete separation of school and state.

We sang, Away in a Manger, Go Tell it On the Mountain, We Three Kings, Silent Night, The First Noel, and the kiddy secular songs every Christmas when I went to public school.

There are many conservatives who are atheists or agnostics.

If government schools include religion, then they should include ALL significant religions. Either that or none.

I still remember my 5th grade chorus back in the 60’s.

We sang “Never So Lovely a Child As He”, “Let it Snow”, and “Dreidle, Dreidle, Dreidgle”. No one complained.

“If government schools include religion, then they should include ALL significant religions. Either that or none.”

That in itself is a religious value.

Someone decides what “significant” religions are. Someone decides how many of what, when. The artistic element is rendered useless as political correctness marches on.

You can’t divorce art of any kind from religious sentiment (whatever the religious element may be). “Piss Christ” is just as religious as “Away In A Manger” as is “Imagine” as is “Take Me Home Country Roads.”

The reason that you cannot divorce artistic expression from religious expression is because both are expressions of the soul. The soul expresses religion constantly. Not necessarily the Christian religion; but religion.

Last week in the TX private school that I work at, the 4th grade had a “Remember the Alamo” reenactment.......toy guns and swords included....

It struck me funny when the teacher said “Everyone put your guns in a pile over here !!!!!”

That exploding head guy, (if it’s from Scanners), has an interesting story behind how they got the effect. They filled a prosthetic head matching the actor’s with red jello and shot at it from behind with a shotgun.

True atheists have no problems with religions, they don’t recognize any religion. These people practice democratic socialism which is their religion and imply they are atheists.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

SHUT DOWN the government schools!

What's needed here is complete and total separation of school and state! Parents should PRIVATELY arrange to have their children PRIVATELY educated and they should pay for it.

However...If conservatives have any hope of saving this nation they should work to see that every child has access to a PRIVATE PRIVATE PRIVATE and conservative education that thoroughly integrates the child's specific Judeo Christian belief and our nation's founding principles into every minute of their school day.

Did you read PRIVATE? Did you understand that there would be NO government schooling? That there should complete separation of school and state?

Exactly. Education CANNOT occur in a vacuum.

Atheism (or at the very least Secular Humanism) is the new school religion.

Aha! The problem is that atheists do not realize that atheism is a religion (belief system).

Make sure that “someone” knows that the majority of the parents have no problem with religion.

Aha! The problem is that atheists do not realize that atheism is a religion (belief system).
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

ALL schools must make a binary decision about worldview. Each school must decide between a godless worldview or a God-centered worldview. NEITHER is religiously neutral in content or consequences.

Therefore...ALL government schools today are godless in their worldview. They are promoting the religious belief of atheism. Yet, the only other alternative is to be God-centered and that is not religiously neutral in content or consequences either!

Conclusion: ALL government schools are a First Amendment and freedom of conscience abomination.

Having sung in a high school choir, I can tell you that the choice of music is based on the skill set of the singers. When you have well trained talented singers, you want musical pieces that are “8-part”: 1st & 2nd soprano, 1st & 2nd alto, 1st & 2nd tenor, & 1st & 2nd bass. We always had at least one Catholic mass type piece, a classical music piece, and then more modern “pop” music that had been converted to 8 piece.

To throw out religious related music is to severely limit the range of your choir. We might as well just all do rap.

Get over themselves indeed.

HOwever, they won’t . . . likely.

Unless they confess, repent . . . accept Jesus . . . they’ll have a very long time to implode in more and more devastating ways. . . . into their own outrageous prickliness.
