Today, Republicans got some good news from the Sunshine State. A new poll of Florida voters shows President Obama faring poorly in hypothetical re-election match-ups. He trails both former Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA) and former Governor Mike Huckabee by five percentage points.

Mason-Dixon is an excellent polling outfit. I think this is very good news.

I would not expect him to win in Florida. Afterall, Rick Scott was elected Governor in Florida.

If he loses Florida and Ohio then he might as well go back to Kenya cause he is done.

Yes, but . . . the important point this far from the election is that Obama is thoroughly beatable, not that any particular candidates are the ones to beat him.

"Hey, Republicans, we've spent two years making Huck and Romney look good by not covering any details, and they are leading in polls, come on, nominate them"

I've seen this game before, and it doesn't end pretty.

It's almost like the media are saying "go ahead, nominate Palin or DeMint or Bachmann but whatever you do, don't nominate Romney". Again, I've seen how that ends and how quickly they can turn from "McCain, the distinguished statesman and war hero," to "McCain the unstable has-been".

I would agree but for the fact that Obama is a known, not an unknown as in 2008. This election will be about Obama not about the GOP nominee whoever it is.

We should nominate the most capable conservative possible so that it is not only a victory but a massive victory, as in 1980.

Hey brilliant,
Scott beat out old political fools that would have continued gub mint in Florida as usual.
At least Scott is cutting crappola from our budget instead of raising taxes.
Not sure I trust him yet but he has to be better than the crop he ran against.
