I was taught to sort out all equations inside of ( ) first, then proceed from left to right....when did the basics change? Huh?

Then do it. Do the math inside the parentheses, then go from left to right. You get 288.

9+3=12
times 2 is 24
divided into 48 = 2
IN the OLDEN TIMES we didn’t leave it in ()....we multiplied that out.......good grief. They changed that?
