Our Greatest Guitar Solo Of All Time poll certainly caused some fierce debate amongst guitarists… and that was just in our office. Choosing the 'greatest' guitar solo is obviously subjective in the extreme. But Guitarist had other motivations too – we were eager to see how many modern solos have impressed you all in the thirteen years since our last solo poll. The results were suprising. After asking for your nominations, we took the 20 most popular and asked for you vote on which your though was most deserving here and at MusicRadar. You voted in your thousands, fanbases were motivated and old favourites suffered.

Give a listen to Loan Me a Dime by Boz Scaggs on his second album. That’s Duane Allman on guitar (with the Muscle Shoals rhythm section). I believe in its 10th anniversary issue Rolling Stone called this song something like 12 minutes of swirling nitrous oxide. They weren’t kidding.
Yeah, I remember when the Wall came out..It was very good (not my personal favorite but good) and thought that it was their last collaboration as a band. Did not know these details though. It seems that when bands are huge and are with each other long enough, it always ends on a bad note (no pun intended) and the members end up despising each other. Then they get old and well...can’t bring it back

The list is a joke to any serious follower of guitar. There are scores of guitar solos that blow all of the list away. Of course once you really bring out the most amazing guitarists then it will become subjective being that there is so much that is so great.
Of course SoundChaser by Yes has some of the best solos on guitar, keyboards, bass and drums ALL built into a very cool tune!!!!!

I recently saw Patrick Moraz live and he did abit of this song. Absolutely amazing piano and keyboard performance. I actually got invited up onto stage but instead sent my best friend up being that he actually can play a piano/keyboard and I mostly play only guitar.
Also saw Yes live recently as well. They still play amazing solos live!
I have heard that Steve Howe may venture into country music soon. I look forward to that if he does. He has always had country music influences as well as rock and classical music influences in his style of play.
No, he’s a certified fruit, but the dude can play some serious guitar, and many other instruments.
