Months before authorities announced the arrest of a 77-year-old Reno man in four slayings going back to 1977, they alerted law enforcement in California, Nevada and elsewhere to review cold case homicides for possible connections.

Piquing their interest was the fact that all four of Joseph Naso's alleged victims – two in Yuba County and two in the Bay Area – had first and last names starting with the same initials.

I live in a Rochester suburb and was around for the double initial murders back then. They were a very big deal.
What this story doesn't mention is that the Rochester victims' bodies were left in towns whose names' first initials matched the victims' initials.
The girl with initials CC was found in Chili; WW in Webster; and MM in Macedon. Creepy stuff.
Rochester's other gruesome claim to fame ... hometown to the "hillside strangler" Ken Bianchi.
