President Rubio.

The more I think about it, the more sense it makes.

A Cuban exile could never win. You all dont get that the b I g Hisp. population hates Cuban exiles and would never vote for one.

Rubio was born in florida, the big question is about his parents. They were cuban exiles but Rubio has not said if they became US citizens.

Makes no difference. Rubio was born here ergo he is a US citizen. If not, then I must have been a citizen of Canada all these years and didn't know about it since my father was a Canadian citizen until I was about 5 years old. Andrew Jackson? Guess what. His parents were born in another country. Ditto even George Washington.

Hmm... I'm a citizen and I was born here but I'm somehow not a natural born citizen?

It makes no sense at all. The guy is not a natural born citizen. As far as I know both his parents were born in Cuba and were not naturalized at the time of his birth. He is soft on Immigration and has refused to join the Tea Party caucus. Lets move on. If you want to nominate a newbie pick somebody good like Allen West.

A Cuban exile could never win.

Except that Rubio is NOT a Cuban exile. He is a US citizen born in the USA. See, in order for you to be a Cuban exile you have to FROM Cuba which he is not.

It seems like waaay too many FReepers are sporting wood over that idiot Trump. Therefore, you probably won’t get many takers.

Oh yes he is. Has been a citizen from birth. If not, when did he become a citizen?

Like McCain? You'll love Rubio!

Want your kids to die in Libya? For who-knows-what?

Vote for Rubio.

He's a creep.

If it did, then even I wouldn't qualify on that count since my father was a Canadian citizen until I was about five (I was born in USA).

It does matter, and you don't.

There's nothing shameful in that. Millions of immigrants also are not eligible to become president of the USA, but they are damn happy to be here.

Rubio is a “born” citizen. He is not “natural born “. There is a higher standard for President.

to be a NBC you have to be born on US soil of 2 US citizen parents. You are a citizen, as am I through naturalization. since both my kids were born before I was naturalized then they aren’t NBC either.

Rubio was born in South Florida. Doesn't make a bit of difference if his parents were citizens at the time.

Liberalism.

Depending on when you were born and your mother’s age at the time, you may not be eligible for the Presidency either.

“Oh yes he is. Has been a citizen from birth. If not, when did he become a citizen?”

Nobody said he isn’t a citizen we said he isn’t a “natural born citizen” That is a person born in the USA of two US citizen parents. There is a higher bar to be President.

Thats why the big flap over Soetoro. He isn’t a “natural born citizen” and he has no business being President. He is an illegal, ineligible person who needs to be removed as soon as humanly possible.

I thought it would be clear by now that sitting US Senators are nothing but trouble when it comes to producing viable candidates. From now on I want a sitting Governor who has served more than one term and actually produced some real-world budgetary results.

Like Mitch Daniels for example...

Marko Rubio hasn’t got enough experience legislating on a National level yet, any more than Hussein did when he ran. I want to see what he can do in the Senate before I would even consider him for another office.

It would be a very serious mistake to run another populist Senator for the Presidency, even one from the Right....
