(CNSNews.com) Katie Couric revealed on Tuesday that she is quitting her anchor job at the CBS Evening News and industry analysts are speculating that she will be replaced by 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley. Before that deal is closed, however, Media Research Center President Brent Bozell has advised CBS to consider other candidates, such as Charlie Sheen and Britney Spears.
Whats the rush? said Bozell in a tongue-in-cheek statement released today. CBS has been in last place for well over a decade. Another few days wont matter. Do not make (another) rash, premature, impulsive decision.
Bozell said that the Media Research Center (MRC), a conservative watchdog group that documents liberal media bias, has launched a national search committee for the next CBS Evening News anchor. He also urged the network to postpone its decision about a new anchor until after the MRC committee has announced its recommendation.
CBS likes people with charisma like Charlie Sheen, maybe? He too is looking for work, said Bozell. Or someone with CBS depth so how about Britney Spears? Or maybe someone who is sweet, perky and oh, wait a minute, you tried that already.
Let the search begin! But dont wait too, too long, said Bozell. The ratings you hear are Al Gores Current TV gaining.

I was pulling for Bobby Gibbs
he he he
But CBS wants to go uphill. :-)
The Pop Tart and The Warlock co-hosting CBS Evening News.
That would be EPIC!
He is prettier.....
That’s a hell of idea.
Charlie Sheen already has a new logo for CBS.
Bet he would get 10 times the viewership that couric does.
He would actually get 10 viewers.
Big Bang Theory repeats?
I’d watch! LOL. :)
Bozell needed that for his article.
Charlie Sheen?? yes, after he had a few drinks in him -— and took some drugs. I’d watch the SeeBS news then — for the ENTERTAINMENT FACTOR!!
