And the 8 years of shacking up in public?
Sacrament of Marriage reverently elevated? Oh, yeah, shack up, screw around and then have a splashy wedding in a church...uh, we will just ignore the previous years.
I am not impressed with all the ‘sanctity”...I am impressed with the hypocrisy!
Why don’t you both just go stone them and be done with it?
Sheesh.
The sins of those joined in Holy Matrimony cannot detract from the beauty of the sacrament. It is truly a gift from God. I will pray that this couple grow in love with one another and with God, with whom, through marriage have joined in a trinity. Also, I forgive them as I pray that I have been forgiven.
So what did you expect them to do after eight years of living together? Break up? Sneak off and have a wedding ceremony performed in a civil records office? Become a nun and a priest? Commit suicide? No, they made it right as soon as she could talk him into it; they did their duty in providing the British people with a spectacular event that has revived Britain’s flagging national spirit and sense of identity.
I’m sure you went to your marriage bed a virgin, which is commendable. But Christ forgave the adulteress, who had done something far worse than having sex before marriage, and He said, “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.” How about a little more forgiveness and a little less Pharisaical condemnation, unless you really are, like Him, entirely without sin? God don’t like ugly, and your spitefulness is ugly indeed.
