You are exactly right about janitors. Further, it is these "low-level" functionaries who make a business run smoothly. A wise person told me to build relationships with them and I will find that projects of mine will experience fewer delays and slow-downs. Perhaps that wouldn't be intentional but the functionaries would personally look out for my things whereas someone who didn't have a relationship was "just a job." Having said that, Caligula could not be bothered with the responsibilities of a janitor. It is "beneath" him.

Another off topic observation, I have a lot of keys. When that is commented upon, I reply, "I'm either important [here] or I'm a janitor. You'll have to decide that." LOL!
