Posted on 05/08/2011 1:36:55 AM PDT by Slump Tester
Here's a show where the big boys who do displays for cities come to compete, try out new shells, and get tuned up for the 4th of July.
Last year's show was the best fireworks display I've ever seen. They shot off 55000+ shells, and then a BUNCH more big 10 & 12" mortars! It went for an hour and 45 minutes! (They only stopped to let the smoke clear.)
Here are a few short youtubes from last year:
This cameraman is a motor-mouth, but check out the length and depth of the firing line! (This is just one guy's contribution, it's not the whole show!)
A small part of last year's show
Here's a bunch of Silver Salutes from last year!
This is set for May 28th. It costs $5 to get in, you can bring lawn chairs and your own beverages (cans & plastic only).
It's in Hamilton Indiana, about 20 miles northwest of Bryan Ohio.
Intersection of Indiana Rt 1 & State Road 427
Gates open at noon, Kids under 12 free w/adult
(Last year I got there about 6:00, and we had great seats, but it's suppossed to be way bigger this year) Info: (260) 668-1806 or (260) 667-7161
This show was the highlight of my summer last year. I wanted to make sure any Freepers in northwestern Ohio, northeastern Indiana and southwestern Michigan know about it.
If you like fireworks, this is worth travelling for. I'm in Columbus Ohio, and there's no way I'm gonna miss it!
Feu d’artifice BUMP!
Never heard about this, do they do this EVERY year? Would love to go in 2012.
If I could blowed sumpin up I love to go!
I had no idea, and they are 40 miles away from me. I’ll have to ask my employee, he lives in Fremont.
As it sasy, this it the third year. It just gets bigger and bigger. Nobody really knows about it yet but the locals.
What did you think of the clip that showed the setup?
As I understood it, they even did one night last year that was limited to buyers only, then they opened it to the general public the night I was there.
Slump Tester.......... Concrete eh?
For those interested in fireworks shows here is a link to PGI
I have been to one of their events and they are simply awesome.
LOL - looks like indiana. Didn’t see anyone who looked like that though.
The photo is from the old comedy TV show SCTV, in a segment called Farm Film Report. They always “blowed somethin up” on each episode.
