What if Romney Wins the GOP Nomination for President in 2012?
Pajamas Media ^ | May 10,2011 | Myra Adams

A visit to a therapist might be necessary to help conservatives work through their issues with the current frontrunner.

What if Mitt Romney wins the Republican nomination for president in 2012?

A vast majority of conservatives become anxiety-ridden at the mere posing of this question, and many go ballistic at the thought of it actually happening.

So a quick visit to a therapist may be helpful.

Imagine yourself lying on a couch in the spring of 2012 with soothing music playing in the background. News breaks that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has clinched the Republican nomination for president.

Your therapist, knowing that as a true conservative you worked against Romney by supporting (fill in the blank), asks in a soft comforting voice, “How does this news make you feel — angry, betrayed, confused?”

Intrade also pegs Obama’s re-election prospects at 58.6%, but your therapist says she will address those negative feelings in a future session.

This hour she wants you to work through the stress associated with accepting Romney as the GOP nominee.

So in an empathetic tone she asks you to think about the following questions:

Are you going to pick up your signs for Candidate X and go home?

Could you work for and support Romney’s campaign?

Will you vote for Romney in the 2012 election?

What if the polls show that Romney is running neck and neck with Obama?

Do you resent that squishy independent swing vote that is fueling Romney?

Finally, the therapy session is over and you leave her office with a huge headache. You realize you would have real problems supporting Romney as the nominee and even imagining these questions makes you angry.

Can you relate to this scenario?

But I seriously doubt Romney has the kind of support needed to get that far.

Columnists write stories like this when they're having brain farts, and can't think of anything else.

I'm not paying attention to the potential GOP nominee until after Labor Day.

Besides, I'm pretty comfortable with Mr. Cain. :^)

If the best we can do in this country is re-elect the commie bastard obama (which will happen if he runs against ford-dole-mccain-romney) then it can damn well deal with consequences without me. I’ll move to Texas and hope for seccession.

Romney may not be the ultimate conservative choice (I have my doubts as to whether any candidate would meet that test), but I do think he would be a vast improvement over the current occupant of the White House and would thus receive my vote.

I will work against Romney and the GOP in that case.

Romney for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

The Wall Street Journal

REVIEW & OUTLOOK
MAY 10, 2011

National Health Preview
RomneyCare’s bad outcomes keep coming.

The ObamaCare preview that Massachusetts has been conducting for the last several years grows more ominous by the month, not that anyone in Washington is paying attention. So let’s check on the Bay State’s latest warning, coming soon to a hospital or medical practice near you.

A new survey released yesterday by the Massachusetts Medical Society reveals that fewer than half of the state’s primary care practices are accepting new patients, down from 70% in 2007, before former Governor Mitt Romney’s health-care plan came online. The average wait time for a routine checkup with an internist is 48 days. It takes 43 days to secure an appointment with a gastroenterologist for chronic heartburn, up from 36 last year, and 41 days to see an OB/GYN, up from 34 last year.........

It will prove once again that the GOP Insiders can put up whatever vacuous, big government loving, reach across the aisle compromising, Globalist butt kissing phony they want and so-called conservatives will come out in droves to pull the lever for him. The will show themselves to be the masters of the Republicrat/Dumbocan Plantation and so-called conservatives to be their craven house slaves.

Whenever our hidden rulers wish to place a democrat sock puppet before the presidential seal, they anoint a RINO to take a dive.

Let's focus on our families, and on local politics. National politics looks more and more like a rigged game, with the latest episode inspired by the opening scene of Mel Brooks' movie Blazing Saddles.

Also, we can learn to pray to the One who can overrule even those who consider themselves politically omnipotent.

Anybody but Obama. Obama has been our worst nightmare. Being (half) black has enveloped him in a sheen of invulnerability in which any attack on him is considered racist. His aura is such that many democratic legislators were willing to fall on their swords to support him. Media support for him is off the charts. I doubt we will ever see as powerful a democrat as Hussein, who is all Alinsky/Chicago/Al Capone all the time.

Yep, same here. Concerning his problem with Romney Care; I would suggest to him that he acknowledge that it’s not working. He should say something to the effect that it was a local state experiment and it did not work and it was a mistake. And, stat that he’s learned his lesson and promise to be a good boy and never, never do that again. And, move on...
